EST? WHATS THE TIME ?

Ok.

This has been really bugging me. I have been seeing that many of the top players plays with EST Time. I am from India and I use UTC.

For example...
FB Timeline Ignition goes live at 2pm EST tomorrow, March 25th.
How will I know the time. I cant find any reliable time converters. I am thinking of using the same TIMEZONE for my launches and anyhelp would be appriciated.

Well, you have 2 hours and 40 minutes from the time of this post to get ready. There, who needs to convert timezones lol?

Is it good to do product launches on the time in new york? Will it be resonable for everyone in US?

If United States citizens are your target demographic then yes, planning your launches around their time zones is the best way to go.

eastern standard time dot com (can't post links)

or just click on your clock in windows, lower right
then there's a tab called additional clocks
add in EST, then hover over your clock and there you go.

Well, the fact that the US started daylight savings time already, just messes it up even more. Do they truly mean Standard time (EST) or is it really Daylight time (EDT)?

Agreed - that's why I prefer to use "NY time". Whether or not Daylight Savings time is in effect, you can always quickly look up NY time.

You can also just google it.

Go to google and type in "What time is it in New York City?"

    Boom. There's your EST.
