Yahoo Groups Full of Spam - Other Traffic Sources?

Hey guys

So I'm working through Chris P Kent's method of listbuilding, and one of his ways he advocates of generating traffic is through using Yahoo Groups. Upon inspection, all of the groups I checked out in my niche (mixed martial arts) were full of SPAM.

Any one have any tips as to how to find another good traffic source? I'm doing article marketing, forum marketing and MySpace profiles at present.

        I'm using Yahoo Groups to bring traffic.

        Yes, there are a lot of SPAMS in my area of interest. In fact, they spam everywhere.

        Only moderated Groups have less spam. I joined 25 groups. Total members around 500k.

        So you have to pick and choose well. Then really interact with members until they trust and respect you.

        Yeah hard work and patience.

        But it works every time when you want traffic or promote something.

        You know, when there are crowds there would always be all kinds of people hanging around - fanatics, lunatics, liberals, right-wing, left-wing, diablos, angels, snake-oil salesmen, provocateurs, ultra-friendly, ultra-sensitive, timid, snobs, split personalities and etc.

        So out of the thousands of users, some people just hate seeing my emails. The touchy ones blocked me. The main reason is there were times that I'm quite blunt on certain subjects. ... lol ..

        To overcome that obstacle and bring even more bigger traffic, some moderators sell me banner spaces as the header of each emails sent to members.

        Also the same emails with the banners are posted in the groups' online post pages.

        So you have to trawl around much until you get some warm and friendly places with moderators. Get some respect and gain some authority.

    Youtube videos are one very untapped source of traffic, and they're much easier to rank on google. A simple trick of getting good traffic from popular videos is to post video responses.

    In the alternative, you can also do syndicated article marketing on qondio, ideamarketers and other related blogs in your niche.

    Guest posting works incredibly great if you should hook up a very popular site. One single comment has even sent me up to 100 clicks in 24 hours. So go figure.
