Confused with PayPal "Issue Refund" Tab...

Hi, if you have experience with using PayPal, can help you me with this problem?

I've made 8 sales or so sales so far in March. Every time I make a sale, it says Order Status/Actions under My Account/History. Below that, there is a tab that says Print Shipping Label (and an arrow that allows you to have the options: Add Tracking Info, Mark as Shipped, and Issue Refund). I recently got a sale but this time the tab just says Issue Refund without the other options. I've had this happen before before, but the customer never emailed me despite me saying that if you want a refund, simply email me and I will give you one. I'm really confused. Is that something that PayPal put there or does it automatically mean that the person who bought my e-book wants a refund?

I don't think the customer asked for a refund...was the payment listed as a product or service. I'm pretty sure there is a difference between product, which usually needs to be shipped, and a service, which doesn't. If it's a service then it might only give you the option for a refund because it's the only option that applies.

[QUOTE][I recently got a sale but this time the tab just says Issue Refund without the other options./QUOTE]

All this means is that if you wish to issue a refund, then you can do it easily without going through all the hassle of issuing refunds that can sometimes occur with PayPal.

So forget about it. You only need to use it in the case of a requested refund.

      Just my thoughts,

      Jeff.

Cool, this makes more sense. Thanks Jeff. PayPal can be irritating to use sometimes...

      It's an e-book so I'm assuming it's a product and not a service.
