Yes, look for who is advertising. If nobody is advertising it is probably not really worth it.

Depends on what you want to do.

The best way to decide on whether a niche is profitable or not is to see who's searching what.

Use the free google keyword tool and start searching for keywords related to the type of business you want to set up. Depending on the number of searches you come up with and the number of competitors you have will let you know if that's a profitable niche or not.

Moreover, the best way to decide on whether or not a niche is profitable is to find out whether the niche you are researching has an unmet solution to a problem they have. The people who are searching may need help with something and as a marketer it's your job to solve that problem for them.

As was mentioned above; seeing if other people are advertising will give you some incite as well.

      So to answer your question:

      1) go online and search for related keywords
      2) check out how many people are searching for a term
      3) check out how many people you have to compete with
      4) Find out what's your prospects biggest need and outcome they want
      5) fulfill with excellence

This is how you tap into a profitable niche

      Hope this helps

A good start is to visit the best sellers on Amazon and virtually anything being sold on dummies.com. These are highly professional marketers, and much of the heavy lifting in market research has already been done for you.
