You change your theme colors in the stylesheet which you can find in the wordpress dashboard under Appearance. the title of your blog is under Settings. You can add pictures to each post using Upload/Insert which you'll see when you create a new post.

You know there are so many different themes / templates out there it all depends on which one you are using but if your theme shows buttons for the about page then it should show buttons for any other page you make.

There are 2 ways to create content - pages and posts - they are different. Looks like your pages will show as buttons.
Of course I am guessing because I don't know what theme you are using.

If you want a theme you can edit from the "inside" without messing with the style sheet - try the Flexibility theme Flexibility Theme for WordPress
Ryan has done a super job on this theme.
