is it Good to Have Forum in the Domain Name for Forum Site

I am planning to start a forum..Just wondering whether it would be good to have "forum" in the domain name? or it does not matter...

I got couple of domain names available ..

1. Domain with Short name ending with labs.
2. Domain with long name ending with forum..

Just wondering which one to go for?

    I would say its good to have it in the domain. Your on a highly trafficked forum that has the name forum in the domain. It lets your audience know that you are a forum and forces you to sum up your USP in one or two words to avoid creating a long domain.

    It depends if it is exclusively a forum site.

    So yes, if it's the case. If it was a blog with a forum as an "add-on" it would be different... but the surfers looking for a forum will be more willing to visit your forumXYZ.com domain
