Urgent Help Need Re Onlywire and Pay Pal Icon

I am in a real jam. Someone has kindly told me my pay pal button isn't working. It was working, very definitely, was checked not only by myself but also by another very reliable person.

It seems since adding onlywire, the problem has started. I have absolutely no idea what to do at all. What I found when I tried to check the icon was that in the status bar I got transferring data from onlywire and then my page just loaded back to my front page - it did not go through to the paypal pay part.

Have just started a large campaign to draw traffic, but if people cannot get the pay icon to work - well it's all a bit futile.

Not the best technically, so please keep the solutions simple

      It was working perfectly before, as I said problem seems to have started when I connected to onlywire. A friend has checked her end, and yes the pay button is re-directing back to the main page. I haven't changed any of the settings for the shopping cart or Paypal and just cannot find the problem.

      If you need to actually go into my site, I will pm you with password etc.

    Where did you place the paypal code?

    I see the button which says "yes i want to change my life now" but i see no paypal code.

      Not quite sure what you mean but when I originally set up wordpress shopping cart, this is what the instructions said to put on the page

      And that's still there, plus it did work, made sales etc. and no drama.



      Have removed broken link to blog catalogue will fix that later, had problems getting that to work but it's not so important as this problem.

    Ah that explains why i see no PP code on the page. It very hard to know what is wrong with a plugin without seeing it.

    Have you checked the plugin's creators website for support? And have you considered removing onlywire to see if that really is the problem?

    No Alyona haven't changed my theme. will reinsert the code though and see what happens.


    Brain Candy7 - will check with the plug in people and also onlywire first thing tomorrow morning, late here and our isp has slowed speed, due to going over download limit, took almost an hour to load this page.

    Have written to both the plug in people and Onlywire, so far no replies. Have re-checked the link for the paypal icon and that appears to be correct.

    Anyone any further suggestions? This is costing me money(:

    The only thing I can think of is that it's something to do with a plugin conflict. Also, not sure if this is relevant but I've had trouble with Google+ buttons making sites extremely slow and eventually timing out - not sure if this could be a result from OnlyWire plugin? Do you have the option to choose which buttons you use?

    Also, when I checked out your site it took a LONG time to load - to the point where I decided to refresh...

    Not sure if it is something to do with Google+ but just thought I'd let you know that I've had problems with it before and it could be worth checking out

      Hi Eleanor, thanks, I haven't been able to check loading times, as my ISP slows us down to snail speed when we go over limites, just checked and yes my site is taking FOREVER to load. Will remove Google + because before site was loading very quickly. This could also account for the drop in ranking Am thinking the same, with all the help, it's a plug in conflict, still waiting for replies but think I will have to unlink from Onlywire, as the paypal was working perfectly before I linked with Onlywire.

        Thanks for the tip about Google+ just went over an unchecked it, site now loading normally (quickly). Still have this problem though with the paypal wp shopping cart, the official version.

        Any suggestions as to another site other than Onlywire?

          If all you are looking for is the social element then there are plenty of social plugins (free and paid) available. I'd recommend something slightly smaller i.e. social buttons and perhaps a floating social bar - that's what I normally go for. I have found that the smaller social button plugins tend to work better with Google+ so you will be able to re-add it if you can get the right social plugin.

          Have you considered using a different PayPal shopping cart system? There are plenty out there and if this one is causing a conflict early on then it doesn't bode well for the future

          Do you need an actual shopping cart or would PayPal buttons suffice?

              It shouldn't be too hard to go into PayPal and create a button and then paste the HTML in the HTML area. Just make sure you do paste it in the HTML area otherwise it'll mess up all the code :p

                  Hehe yeah it's pretty straight forward and should avoid any conversion issues that your current setup may cause. Ideally you want a straight "Buy Now" to PayPal solution

    Just deactivated Onlywire. That doesn't seem to be the problem, as page is still linking back to front page not the paypal page. But now I'm back to normal speed, site is loading fast by removing Google+ one problem fixed.

    Also just removed the only other new thing I have put on the page Active Search Results, they require a link back to their site, hasn't made any difference.

    Took off the All In One SEO pack and this does appear to be the culprit. Not sure why, as it was added a while back, but if it's causing problems now since updating, it can be deactivated.

    Now when you click on the yes, change my life icon it does still load back to the original splash page but.... it now has the shopping cart on the bottom and that goes through to paypal. Not sure how to make it go to a different page, so hope people will realize that they need to scroll down to actually make a payment.

      Hmm.. sounds like that could hurt your conversion.

      Have you tried Platinum SEO? It's better than All In One in my opinion and I've never had any conflict issues.

      What PayPal plugin are you using? Sorry if you've already said - it's 2.30am here so I'm a bit drowsy

        LOL know the feeling of being drowsy I've just taken your advice and changed from the wpshopping cart to a "buy now" paypal, which is SOOOOOO much better as people will now go directly to the paypal page - not so much chance to change their minds hee hee.

        Will get the Platinum SEO - have already deleted the All In One.

        Now you have a lovely cup of Horlicks and LOL I'll have a very stiff drink.

      That's great news Mary Yes, when in doubt always go direct to PayPal - they do offer everything you need in most cases.
