Quitting Job For IM - Is the majority doing an online business shipping goods or just file downloads

With term internet marketer does this range from running an online store say selling products like gifts, cards, bags, shoes, hampers etc or is the majority selling seo techniques and ebooks?

Is the majority doing an online business shipping goods or just file downloads?

Resulting in your quitting you full time day job to do IM - What IM are you doing?

    The internet is an amazing place. In regards to what I actually do, I have a online business selling digital goods and specializing in follow-up marketing. No physical items and no drop shipping. I love it.

      Can you explain a little more about digital goods? Do you mean like selling ebooks?

        Information products. People love information in general. People have a problem, you offer a solution and get paid. Just make sure you keep the customer in mind and not your money. This way you can build a long lasting relationship with your customers.

            You could sell through clickbank (although that's just one avenue among many!). The nice thing with clickbank is that their detailed stats tell you what's selling and what's not. So look at what's hot and think about how you can create an ebook/product that is different yet better than the competition!

    All of them! Diversify, never put all your eggs in 1 basket. You'd probably find your SEO skills would be complimentary to selling books etc. Most successful marketers I've spoken to started off in one niche, and expanded their portfolio once they went full time. All the best!

    Internet marketing is about selling anything for as much money for a little effort as you can via internet. How, or what doesn't matter. Of course there are great and common methods out there that can help you on your way.

    I would definitely stay with digital goods. Even drop shipping has its disadvantages compared to digital goods. But then again do what you have a passion for because you'll need it to succeed.

    I suspect that digital goods represents more than half of the revenue generated by IM, but I could be completely wrong on that.
    Then again, those of us who sell tangible goods often don't like to be considered 'Internet Marketers' at all, I know I don't when I'm wearing my tangibles hat.

    Does it matter? Find something you're interested in selling and sell it.
