Making A Successful Switch from Affiliate to Vendor

So I've been involved in IM for a while now, and - like many other Warriors on here - am in the process of making the switch from affiliate to vendor. Subsequently, I have a couple questions I was hoping all you capable, seasoned, competent Warriors could help me with Before I ask my questions, I should tell you that I am in a health sub-niche.

- Because this is the health niche, my ebook is inevitably similar to my competitors' in terms of content (causes, solutions, etc.). To get affiliates/customers to choose my product, I know it has to be better. How can I do this if the content is rather similar?
- For their upsells, the competitors that are doing well offer 'bonus' ebooks. However, these ebooks look REALLY legitimate. Like, 250-page documents stacked with information written by Dr. So and So. Where/how do I get books or other bonuses like this for my product?
- To get 'super' affiliates to promote your products, many Warriors on here say to promote their product first. But if I'm in the health niche, these super affiliates are usually only promoting someone else's work. So how do you attract them then?
- Just about every product (especially in health) has reviews and testimonials (in bulk) on its squeeze/sales page. However, if you are just launching your product, no one has bought it yet. So how do you get such reviews/testimonials? (I'm assuming my fellow vendors don't just make them up, and understand that I am most likely wrong).
- I am intending to use CB as my affiliate platform. I know it is best for visibility and exposure, especially for newbies. Would you suggest any other affiliate platform that may be even better (remember that I am in the health niche)?

Thank you all SO much for your help.

You need to put yourself into the shoes of an affiliate and ask yourself why someone would want to promote your product rather than the competition. It should not be difficult for you as you have experienced life as an affiliate yourself. You will know why you chose one product over another. Make a list of those things and then specifically address them.

Let's have a look at your questions:

    - Because this is the health niche, my ebook is inevitably similar to my competitors' in terms of content (causes, solutions, etc.). To get affiliates/customers to choose my product, I know it has to be better. How can I do this if the content is rather similar?
You need to make sure your have a better-converting sales page.

    - For their upsells, the competitors that are doing well offer 'bonus' ebooks. However, these ebooks look REALLY legitimate. Like, 250-page documents stacked with information written by Dr. So and So. Where/how do I get books or other bonuses like this for my product?
Find Dr so-and-so or an equivalent expert and ask if he/she would like to be interviewed for your product, then work out a win-win deal.

    - To get 'super' affiliates to promote your products, many Warriors on here say to promote their product first. But if I'm in the health niche, these super affiliates are usually only promoting someone else's work. So how do you attract them then?
You need a better marketing funnel, better conversions, better customer retention, better commissions etc. The affiliates you target will know their figures. You need to approach them in such a way that makes it a no-brainer for them to switch to your product. So test out your funnel, get stats and then find your affiliates one by one. If your stats are not good, work on your sales page and marketing funnel and make them good, then go back again.

Give it away in return for you first testimonials. For example, you could try a WSO and offer a refund to the first 6 x people who give you a useable testie.

    - I am intending to use CB as my affiliate platform. I know it is best for visibility and exposure, especially for newbies. Would you suggest any other affiliate platform that may be even better (remember that I am in the health niche)?
My main experience is with CB. There is DigiResults as an alternative.

OK - so remember, non of this is rocket science. Think about affiliates as your 'customers'. Not customers in the sense of them buying your product, but customers in the sense of you needing to convince them why they should promote your product rather than the competition.

Work out exactly what your affiliates want and then give it to them. Once you have an excellent converting offer with a great backend in place with excellent customer retention, why wouldn't anyone in your niche want to promote your product? No reason - right?

Work on finding those first few dozen affiliates manually and if you get the above right, CB will then do its work and attract all the others for you.

    Good luck,

    Will
