Is this ok for a FTC Affiliate Disclaimer?

Are affiliate sites that have a link at the bottom that says disclosure or disclaimer and takes the visitor to another page that just says somewhere that the website receives compensation ok with the FTC?

Or does it have to be at the bottom of the page that has an affiliate link on it? Saying something like this "Disclaimer - An affiliate link from Company "XYZ" is used on this page."? or "Disclaimer - The product link on this web page is an Amazon affiliate link."

I am wondering if something like this site is ok http://www.onlinemeetingreviews.com/...s/gotomeeting/
I do not want to get the wrath hammer of the FTC haha

If it helps: I have a link in the menu bar, that says "Disclosure Policy" where I tell people I'm an affiliate for the products I recommend, and that if they buy through my links, I get a share of the price.

I also add that the share is deducted, not added, just to make sure they don't get the wrong feeling.

I don't know where you have to place the link to the page, but make it visible and let people know what you're up to, that's what matters in the end, I think.

We're terrified of them. Please don't mention their name ever again.

No, but seriously, I read your disclosure and it seemed okay. I'm no lawyer though.

However, I don't know how specific you have to be in your wording. Saying you accept advertising and are compensated from your content might not suffice.

You might have to go so far as to say:

If you click on a link and make a purchase I could be compensated in the form of a commision, free advertising, etc.

      Again, Im no lawyer.

It is not my site, just wondering if that site was acceptable. It seems to dance around the point. It was made by a supposed super affiliate.

I think from what I've read here on WF, that the FTC wants to make sure your visitors know exactly what you're up to, so that is a good suggestion. The bottom line the OP needs to make sure that people who are visiting his website know how the OP makes money.

Also, don't be afraid to be opened, people like it. Be honest and tell your visitors about what you're doing, because they'll appreciate it more than trying to hide your disclosure link with some obscure colors or at the bottom of the pages, where people might not look.

Thanks all of you for the input. I'm working on this now with a paralegal for what I need to put up. I appreciate everyone here.
