Recommended books for grammar/writing for Internet Marketing?

Since internet marketing is comprised of so much writing, it's easy to see how important proper writing skills are.

Does anyone know of any good books for people (like me) who need an entire refresher course? Anything that focuses on improving writing to a professional quality for internet marketing would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think that you were saying that you wanted an IM-targeted book per se, but a book that helped you get the caliber quality necessary in IM endeavors. If I assumed incorrectly, I apologize, but if not...

I highly recommend Lynn Truss's treasure, Eats, Shoots and Leaves. A humorous, enjoyable, educational read on punctuation.

Then, check out the Grammar Girl books. Targeted at gals, these books still offer any reader a nice catch-up in grammar.

I highly recommend Bob Bly's The Copywriter Handbook for details on writing good copy.

I can't think of any general writing books off the top of my head, but I hope that these will help you in your efforts.

The finest book in the field is The Elements of Style by William Strunk and E.B. White. It is available online but you should own a copy of the actual book. There is no substitute.

Then, if you really want to learn to write well, you should do two things.

      1. Get some well-written books, fiction or non-fiction, and read them. Pay attention to grammar, punctuation and the use of language.

      2. And then write. When you have written 100,000 words you will never wonder again about your ability to write.
