Fiverr seller selection guide - How to get results from Fiverr

Fiverr is a great platform with a good review process in place. There are many SEO services/ Sales related services/ Fun related/ Graphics / Programming services available here. All the services are sold at $5 and there are addons varies from $5 to $20 depending on sellers.

There are a lot of rants about fiverr services and majority of them doesn't make any sense. So here are the few guidelines which can be followed to pick your right seller and win the game.

1. First and most important , be clear about your requirement, fiverr is not about providing end to end solution. If you finalize on your entire stategy, you can pick the required services from fiverr.
Example 1:- Never expect a page #1 with one fiverr gig, but get a bookmarking done or link pyramid which should be a part of your plan.

Example 2:- Don't expect a boom on sales by just getting another $5 gig, but get a sales page done or sales video done and use it logically in your business plan.

2. Now you know what you need, next identify your seller. There 1000s of sellers for each service , so choose carefully.

2a. Never order in bulk to a new seller , test them and shortlist
2b. Have a backup always
2c. Send a message to the seller and wait for resonable time to get response and then order
2d. Check the reviews .. in fiverr reviews can be placed by the buyers only so chances of manipulating that is very less.
2e. Check the queue , if the seller is overloaded better move to your backup seller.

3. Check the delivery time and how the reports are provided

4. Don't give one work to multiple sellers at a time, it may not help you to evaluvate the quality (mainly seo service)

5. Note down your sellers details and later it turns to be a useful information for you next projects.

6. Most of the fiverr sellers have services outside fiverr, and its easy to get in touch with them by just a google search. You may get a better deal for your bulk orders.

If you have any other points which need to be added, please post it , I will keep updating.

Fiverr is not bad .. Make use of it wisely.

Disclaimer: i am a level 2 seller on fiverr and i have hidden motives, but still I had tired to be neutral and helpful as much as i can.

PS: If this helped you , hitting thanks button on right corner would be a good idea..

Good share here. I especially like number 4 - it's best to test out many people before hiring them on a long-term basis, so that you can be sure you are getting the most for your money.

For stuff like ebook designs, it's totally worth it to hire 3 gigs and see which version is better to use (or so you can test all 3 to see which converts better) and also to know who to use consistently, and find this out much faster. It's worth the extra $5-10 for some gigs.

I would also add to filter your search results by "Rating" and not "Relevance."

Fiverr is a place for buyers who could afford less, yet it can be made effective.

    • Give it some time, and in the meantime - since you can have up to twenty gigs, get busy and post more. You might be very surprised at what takes off for you!

      That is true.

However, I have to tell you I hear from some of Fiverr's top sellers every day, people who've been on there since the beginning and have made thousands. And the one thing they always want to know is:

"How can I make more sales? How can I rewrite this gig so people will buy it? How do I get people to watch my YouTube videos?"

At some point your 20 gigs and videos are fully optimized. If that's not enough for the people who are trying doing this full-time, what then?

There are simply too many people on Fiverr.

The scary part of fiverr is that most people give a positive feedback BEFORE they see real results. Then when you come along, you buy. I have had a few bad services...now I hold back my feedback for a month or more to see if I get real results. (Something I think everyone should do.)

But in the end, if the results are not good, I fear giving negative feedback...you never know what they could do to your website address...get you blacklisted or worst. Buyer beware of $5 deals.

Ordering one fiverr gig and waiting for a month to see the result looks like very immature ..

that is why i mentioned in my OP , you should be knowing what you need. And if you get what you need , there is nothing wrong in giving a positive review. And when it comes to the results .. If what you ordered doesn't give you results is something you need to fix at your end .. isn't it ?

Like Trevor said....number 4 is a big one...

Don't "put your eggs in a few baskets" at the same time...so if you are going to buy facebook likes, don't have a few sellers doing it at the same time.

Common sense would tell you that each one would keep track of what they do, but it never works out that way

Another good option is to read thru the comments and see whether there are many repeated clients giving positive feedback , that is a very good sign of delivering value ..

There is some great information here. Sometimes without thinking, we may go overboard on a new project. But, point 2a is well taken. Test a seller first before giving him/her multiple jobs.

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
    do when everyone is watching.
