Free brownie points if you can solve this strange problem

I'm stuck in a pretty strange situation and would love to hear your advice.

I have 7 interview recordings with experts on finding your passion that you can get paid for. One of the experts has a 30K+ list and would like to be an affiliate for a product I put together.

Here's the challenge: what's a high-value product I can put together that he could promote that uses these 7 expert interviews? I feel like the interviews alone aren't as compelling as a "step by step system" or another offer.

Why not use the interviews to write a thorough ebook? I'm sure some of the experts' advice overlaps - meaning you could turn it into a step-by-step of sorts. You could also sell audio files of the raw interviews to people who read the book and want to hear more from "Joe Schmo Expert".

Find your passion and to monetize it has got to be the biggest pile of crap ever that entered the IM world. It would not only make you being less passionate about it, but it can not guarantee you that you will be making money online. In example, if your passion is to build stupendously large skyscrapers of plastic bags, what are the odds that someone want to learn how you did, and what are the odds that somebody else actually might be interested in as well?

There will be other IMers telling you otherwise..I just can't retain myself if I see someone talk about that.

That said, take Nicole's advice, might be the best..

I disagree, Steven. There are ways to find work that is meaningful for you that also offers value to other people, which is the key to getting paid.

Obviously "how to build skyscrapers out of plastic bags" is a tiny (zero?) market, but I'm sure that a person who chooses that has OTHER passions that create value for other people.

My kitten is sitting here with her paws crossed, praying that making skyscrapers out of plastic bags becomes a reality. It would be like Disney World to her!

You're right, though... monetizing your passions can be a cheesy topic. The OP's goal would have to be to use the information he's got in a non-cheesy, actually helpful way. Even if it something as simple as, "here's how you take your passion and figure out if it can make money. If not, here's how you tweak things so that you can monetize it."

I think that's going to depend on the ownership of the rights to exploit the interview-contents for commercial purposes, isn't it? But if all the interviewees are willing to sign something waiving all rights to their use, including those for all derivative works, there could be several possibilities? An e-book, an audio series, even a membership site gradually making the information available?

I think both Nicole and Steven have made good points, above. E-books are perhaps easier to sell, while personally the "just follow your passion and the money will follow" theory of marketing makes me feel a bit queasy - unless your passions happen to relate to big markets with consumers actively seeking solutions.

Absolutely, Alexa - I'm actually against the theory of "follow the passion, money will follow" because it isn't true. But these experts show how to find something you're passionate about, that other people also find valuable and pay for.

My theory on the profit from your passion is that you should find passion inside of your way of profiting. If promoting acne e-books is what makes you money then put a smile on your face and get to work. The aftermath of that work will keep you smiling all the way to the bank.
