Starting To Go Viral, Need Tips

Any idea on what you want to sell these people?
If you have no ideas, whip up a fun ebook on fruit instruments; or something like that. Then sell that.
There's lots of things you can do with that video (as well as similar videos) to make it even more viral too.
At the very least, put a link to your site in the description box, throw some annotations on there to subscribe, and then make another one.

Also, good idea throwing on the forum here. You'll get more views that way too.

thanks. Right not it's almost at 10,000 views in a few days, not really enough to sell something. I figure if the video itself can go more viral, then I would get many more subscribers and maybe earn something significant from youtube adsense

I'm also a musician as well and have a few videos up on YouTube. All I know is once I got over 50k views on one I had, I got the invite from Youtube to join as a premium partner. Never went through with it though, just because the video has helped me generate sales for the song that the video was for.

Facebook, Twitter and other sharing sites are definitely where you want to put this. Start simple with just your friends and any subscribers you have - it seems like the kind of video that has viral potential.

Not sure what you could sell to though - I'd suggest just youtube adsense like you said and perhaps an ebook or step by step video series on how to play music with fruits

thanks. I shared it on my main facebook page and fan page, it's just hard to see who actually shared the link (before you could just type in in the search and it would tell you, now it doesn't. I'm not sure if I should look into facebook promotion services. I'm at a point in my life that I have to look at everything that I spend with a fine tooth comb (having 3 kids can be very expensive)

Dude that was incredible!

I have no experience in this but here are a couple of suggestions off the top of my head:

1. Put a link in the description to your band website (I'm assuming you have one)
2. consider going to OfferVault.com and looking for a general audience CPA offer to promote in the video description - gift card or free iPad or something like that
3. upload the video to other video sites. You can use TubeMogul.com or PixelPipe to help automate this
4. make more videos. You clearly have a knack for it

I would love to give you advice, but I really don;t have any for you. I had to comment though and say that was an awesome video.

Good talent there. Odd, but very unique. Try out some other fruits. Make a video for each fruit, and soon people will know you as some fruit musician or something. Never know. Just keep it up!

I suggest maybe applying to Youtube to get adsense ads put on it so you can start earning. It sounds like you are getting a lot of viewers in a short time.

thank you. I'm trying to come up with other ideas but it's hard. I did one other video the day after playing only a can (but the coconot one is still much better)

I have adsense on the video but in order to make any significant money I would have to get many more views, in the 100,000 i would think

First off, F#%$ing awesome! I just gave you tweet!

Next:

1. Can you do it again? Make other odd little tunes with other fruits? Maybe it's a niche! Be the crazy fruit musician...sounds kinda fun.

2. If it's sorta viral...help it along. Get everyone you can (good on you for posting it here, BTW) to help push it over the edge.

3. Don't make some silly ebook or course on how to play music on the coconut. I don't think that's why people are checking it out. They're looking/watching/sharing because it's odd, kinda cool, and something they think their friends might like. Do more of that...make that your niche, attach a brand, and sell stuff through the brand once you're really there.
