Where did babilon.com come from?

Recently when I open up a new tab on my Firefox, I get Babylon Search rather than the blank page I used to get. Where the hell did this come from and why did they invade my computer? I cant seem to find anywhere to uninstall it.

Check your list of installed software to see if anything has been installed called Babylon. Otherwise scan your computer for malware, I prefer malwarebytes.

    Or you can read this:

This also happened to me once... You probably downloaded a toolbar. I uninstalled it and still had babylon as my default search provider when entering a query into the domain box on firefox... pretty annoying.

    Reinstalling firefox fixed that issue.

      Hi Tim,

      a) find solutions in Google by searching for the name of the malware

      b) go here and install this addon (I use it after a similar experience)

      c) be very careful when installing free software that you tick/untick all of the correct boxes to make sure that you are not installing something like this along with the software - this is how they make their money from the software and is often the cause of the problem

      d) alter the mis-spelling of 'babylon' in the thread title so that others will find these solutions more easily when they search in Google

Just checked out my Explorer where was Babylon and and was able to remove it clicking on Home icon and selecting remove but can not give exact advice for Mozilla. They are something like Norton antivirus - nothing bad, just want to make money but act like malware.
