Fiverr Fiverr.. why have you failed me

I have a 75% bounce rate on my Social Development platform socialappzone.com so I hired ( for the amazing price of $5) a critical review...

I get a two liner "Fantastic site, nothing wrong with it"...

So then I buy a tweet from a guy with a trillion followers... click through... zero..

Damn it .. baby needs a new Ferrari!!

    Lol...

Fiverr gigs usually deliver the the $4 you paid someone to do that task for you.

Those twitter accounts with a bajillion followers aren't "real" anyway. Tweet Attacks users with multiple accounts all targeting "#followback" posts and accounts to gain followers results in a 0% ctr because they're all bots... :-P

Folks who have built up a huge following don't tend to want to spam their followers with unrelated messages for $4. haha..

I'm willing to bet you'd get a better CTR from twitter posts from people with only a couple thousand followers (who are actually engaged).

Maybe then you can get that Ferrari.. :-P

    A 100% Free Critical Review:

Your header does nothing for you. You need to get all that text together so people can process it all once. Its all disjointed. The way you have built this section, I totally miss this text: Professional Apps - Built in Minutes - NO Programming Required. But even if I read that, I don't really know what that means, or what you are offering.

Your login looks like it runs into your header -on accident, not very professional looking. You need some definition up there.

Your sign up form is WAY too big and crowds out your icons. Which almost tell me what your site is about? And what the heck am I signing up for?

The bullets that give some facts are light grey... except the facebook apps work which is blue. Its hard to read, and why is the Facebook Apps text blue? Some great random facts here, but what does all that have to do with me?

Then MAYBE I can look over and see "How Does it Work" but I still don't exactly know what it is. And when I click on that text, and the icon, I don't get anything. Most people probably miss the fact that Read the Detailed Platform Overview is the link, since it looks like the text above it, and I couldn't click on that.

Then there is a video, which I am not going to watch cause I still cannot figure out what is going on. (I did watch it and that is the only thing on your site that explains what the heck is going on here, but what does it have to do with socialappzone.com? that video was about Social App Studio and is branded xtranormal? Confusing)

Then I see some image boxes. What are those? NO idea. Maybe if I hover over them it will tell me...nope - maybe those are your friends. Is this a social network? Hmm I don't know what those are.

    Suggestions:
Find a way to explain what your site is and does early on. Make that layout a little smoother, make it easy for my eye to know what to look at first, second, third etc. Less clutter, more WIIFM

I am going to guess the fiverr guy had no idea where to start!

When you get that ferarri, I would like a ride please!

Fiverr hasn't failed you, you simply didn't know about fake twitter accounts and ordered from the wrong testimonial guy. You shouldn't have accepted that testimonial, by the way.

Fiverr is a place (just like anywhere else) where there are good deals and bad deals (mostly bad deals I should say) .. Our job as an independent IMer is to train our eyes to look for the good deals and buy them.. make sure our money is well spent.

Of course In order to look for the good deals, sometimes we just have to make mistakes (bought bad deal)

Very true. I've tried outsourcing a couple of jobs to Fiverr members -- haven't got any results so far and am not very impressed with the service. Haven't completely lost faith though -- I'm pretty sure you can find decent workers there if you look carefully enough.

what did you expect? haven't you heard about youlikehits and how "human" the followers you get from there are? and for 4$ it should not be a surprise!

Yea it seems to me most of Fiverr's gigs are worthless. You get what you pay for... most of the time. There are a few gigs like voice-over work, social media comments and art-work that are worthwhile.

It is also true that there is a heavy competition going on at Fiverr. It is becoming extremely hard to survive there unless you stand out in the crowd by offering something special for $5!

  • Hi...

    I am a bit confused...

    (a) Is this something *you* made?
    (b) Are you <ahem> 'exagerating' the truth when you say 'top' app builders are making 100k/year, and estimated earnings are 3 million?

I'd assume if this is your *own* platform, and the developers were making that much, then you/yourself would be making minimum 250-300k for hosting the platform... so I don't understand why you are looking at 'single' fiverr gigs?

The platform is a non profit social collaboration .. so as long as the hosting fees are meet all is good. The 100k+ income from top developers is purely from their own efforts.

As for 'single' fiverr gigs .. life kinda gets a little boring when you have a 6 figure passive income and even though $5 does not seem like much .. it's a new adventure and a way to learn about new marketing ops... now a 100k a month .. that is the goal

Buying traffic is in general not a good idea (of course I'm not talking about normal PPC/PPV here, but one off payments for a traffic surge).

The same applies to buying tweets on Fiverr, even if the person has tens of thousands of followers, you will likely only get a few clicks anyway (the followers may not even be real).

So, I would recommend you stay away from such gigs.

That's pretty much a scam if you paid $5 for that.

Probably fake followers. And even if they're not, your tweet is probably one of the hundreds he makes a week, making it difficult for people to find your link.

I have a site similar to fiverr but you get to set your own price $5.00 - $100.00
The fee on my site is only $0.50
    EmpireGig.com <--- Not spamming

But besides that I have always played fiverr from the other side. I always sell services on there, Never really buy anything besides those people who make cool videos, like the animated promotional ones. haha.

    My Question:
Has anyone ever bought a social bookmarking gig from there, And if it worked please let me know who it was, I need some work done on my site. haha

The people who sell things like "a tweet to 10,000 followers" or "10,000 facebook fans guaranteed" are just using bots to deliver those things. In other words, the 10,000 twitter followers aren't real humans, and neither are the facebook fans.

The only reason to ever use those is if you wanted to make your twitter or facebook page look like it has a lot of followers.

    Hi Social app person,

I checked out your site. What I can suggest is that you focus more efforts on your BACK-LINKING, and SEO - Instead of the "trillion followers" on twitter.

Get it targeted. It's time to dig deep my friend!

when you purchase this kind of services you have to note some points: 1st). what you look for is quantity for example: find some one that post your tweet like 10 times to 4,000 REAL guys ( i have purchased once this service and traffic emedditaly bumped )2nd) be sure followers are 100% real and ACTIVE if no you are just giving 5 for nothing, always be sure that the seller has good reviews so you can see how efficent is his work! Fiverr is great, but not for the two gigs you got! I mean, really... common sense.

Recent Fiverr gigs I bought that were great...

    • Facebook cover image
    • Photoshop a photograph I needed tweaked
    • "Get well" photograph for my buddy (best gig yet )
    • 1 Minute voice over
    • Podcast album cover done
    • Headers for some of my niche sites
Fiverr is great for fun jobs, quick graphic work, and short audio work. Be realistic and temper your expectations, it's five bucks.
