How to promote a new facebook game?

Hi,
My friend is new in facebook development program industry and he will develop a new game with facebook api,can you give me some advise on which kinds of games should i develop or how to promote a new facebook game?

    The main thing you need is the game, if the game is good you will get users very fast, it will go viral. But for the game... it depends how good you are at making them, there would be lots of graphic design, music, and coding work to do. Have you had any ideas?

    Try and make it stand out from the crowd.

      My friend is a good developer,but lack of a really good idea now,at least i think...

    Fanpage and PPC -> to Fanpage from Facebook itself. Then once people start using it it will do well. But take a hint form a lot of the other games on Facebook. Meaning... make sure the game can post update statuses to their wall.
