Amazon Commissions on Your Own Items?

Hey,

I've searched everywhere, but can't seem to find an answer to this question...

If you refer a sale to Amazon through your Amazon Associates account, and the sale is to an item that you are selling on Amazon, do you still receive the 4-8% commission (essentially lowering the 15% "selling fee" Amazon takes for the sale to just 8%)?

Thanks for your help

Not 100% sure but I think you would not get the commission on your own product although depends on if your accounts are all under the same name.

Best scenario here is to shoot a mail off to Amazon Support and ask them.

What is Amazon's policy for Associates placing orders for themselves?

You may not purchase products during sessions initiated through your own Associates links and will not receive referral fees for such orders. This includes orders for customers, orders on behalf of customers, and orders for products to be used by you, your friends, your relatives, or your associates in any manner.

No, that's not what the OP is asking.

Say you have a website where your items for sale on Amazon are displayed using your Amazon affiliate links. If someone clicks through to Amazon and buys your product, do you get an affiliate commission as well as the sale?

The answer is YES. I use this model.

If you have a product on Amazon such as a Kindle book or other item, and someone clicks thru your affiliate link to purchase that item, and they are not using your account to make the purchase, yes, you would get a commission.
