Article Syndication & Plagiarism

I am new to article syndication.

Can you submit the same article that is there in your site to different article directories, without being penalized by Google for duplicate content?

    The short answer: Yes.

Extended answer: Yes, because that's called syndicated content and not duplicated content. Duplicated content occurs when the same piece of content appears more than once on a single site.

    Logic outweighs all.

I also started doing some Guest Blogging and adding that to the pyramid was very good too. Good backlinks from high PR blogs and lots of traffic (:
      Has that affected your PR?

I understand that an article is considered to be syndicated if there is a back link to the original source. But what if the back link is not to the original post but to the website? What if the article was stolen and there was no back link at all?

If the original back links are not present, then definitely they have broken copyright laws and if the second article has links to the website like the original article has, it is syndicated content.

    Yes.

Doing that involves no duplicate content. It involves only syndicated content. The difference is explained here: Article Marketers - Lay the Duplicate Content Myth To Rest Once and For All | Internet Marketing and Publishing

But what's more important for you to know is that there's no real benefit (in traffic or backlinks) from submission to multiple article directories, and that isn't actually what article marketers mean by "syndication" at all. I think this thread may be helpful to you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

I am kind of new. Can you tell me what is the use of syndication if it is not for traffic?

It is for traffic - just not for traffic from article directories.

An article directory is simply a stepping-stone. The idea is that from there, the articles are syndicated by others who have ezines/sites with relevant traffic for you.

This is the purpose for which article directories exist.

The last thing any article marketer would want would be for a potential customer to put a keyword into a search engine and find an article directory copy of an article rather than the one on the marketer's own site. We all lose most of that traffic, so we don't want our customers going to article directories.

Potential customers don't look for articles in article directories. They look in search engines for information. Potential publishers look in article directories (actually even that's an exaggeration: typically they look only in "Ezine Articles"). Those are the people for whom article directories exist.

Posts #2 and #6 of this thread explain it all in detail, and give links to "further stuff": http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ries-work.html
