See my one page site ranking in google - post panda

Just thought I will show you an example of myths and false information on the internet about SEO and Google.

I tried making a one page website on bicep workouts. Google the keyphrase "bicep workouts" - (on google.com, you will find bicepworkoutsformass.info ranking 7). You might be surprised to note:
  • It really is a one page site (Panda???).
  • The content is not original - it contains content copied from articles.
  • The site was built as a sub domain on my wordpress multisite install. I bought the .info domain and mapped it to the sub domain on my multisite.
  • I did not try to build backlinks to this site. Only did some social bookmarking.
  • On the single page site, I created anchor links to various sub topics within the same page to create internal linking.
The site ranks for the following keywords:

Bicep workouts - 7
bicep workouts for mass - 7
best bicep workouts for mass - 5
best bicep workout for mass - 9
bicep workout for mass - 7
bicep workout -28

I haven't checked for other keywords like best arm workouts etc.

I basically created this site to test the internal linking aspect, and let it lie. I did not want to add more content to the site etc.

Over the last 2-3 months, it has been hovering at a ranking of between 20-30, and suddenly has come to page 1 in the last one week or so.

I wonder what made google like this site suddenly.

Maybe its possible that your competitors were hit by the last update and you were rewarded you for not being over zealous and not using bad practices

    What? Content? This is ridiculous!

How could a website that offers something of value instead of pure optimized BS ever get to page one?

Could it be that Google wants its users to like the results that they get??

    This gives pause for thought...

PS: Might want to fix that error.

PPS: Sneaky adwords placement to make it look like the navigation bar.. lol..
