YouTube is a massive free source of targeted-viral traffic and a Powerful branding tool. Right now YouTube is the 3rd most visited website on Internet according to "Alexa". Google owns it and it's free.

Millions of people from all over the world make it a part of their daily routine to visit YouTube and see what's new on it. Unlike any other Social Network, you don't need to be a member of YouTube to watch videos. This means, people will be watching a video you have created worldwide.

YouTube will not only increase sales, but business brand exposure, popularity, and targeted web traffic.

By posting videos on YouTube you can gain new clients and buyers and attract thousands of new visitors to your website or blog.

A marketer can't afford to ignore YouTube in his/her marketing plan.

I think when done correctly that Youtube absolutely can play a positive role in any type of marketing campaign. Where the problem occurs is with a load of courses teaching others to spam the site with random/crappy videos. It tends to water down the effects of the good ones sometimes.

I agree if done correctly youtube can be a good marketing tool, the only problem is that you have no control over whom watches your video so a small percentage of viewers who view your video may be your target audience. the best thing is to post you video marketing material on many sites one I use is woofey.com. they allow you to sell items through the video player it a good site

Well, that is not entirely true. Youtube's search is the same as Google's in that you can target specific keywords for your video to ensure that the traffic you receive is in fact targeted. Will a portion be untargeted? Of course, but I'd bet you could say that about any type of traffic, really.

YouTube can definitely be a gold mind with a bit of creativity. Although, depending on the niche, it can be too competitive.

I think youtube is very important to any marketing plan. A website that is in the top 3 in serps should definitely be in any internet marketer's advertising plan. Especially since it's free to sign up and you can find hundreds of people in the same niche as you to network with. I love youtube. Even if you're not good at many videos, there are plenty of sites that can you make quality videos at low cost.

I think YouTube should be included in any marketing plan but it's been around for a long time now. If you have any clients in the fashion/design niche you should really be looking at Pinterest. You can read my post on Going Viral With Pinterest for a bit more info.

I've used it to some success, but then again it all really depends on the niche. Some niches just don't have many options available in terms of videos and still having them come out unique. It is a solid source though.

Yes I agree that video marketing is powerful.. But I won't do video marketing if it's in the IM niche.. There's too little people in youtube who wanna watch IM videos <-- Just my personal opinion.

Agreed. You cannot really promote a product or service just by making another infomercial and posting it on youtube. It would sort of negate the purpose of the site.
I think video marketing, like article marketing is another media for information marketing. You can't really do much by making promotional videos but you have a lot to gain by making informative videos that offer constructive insight about a product or service.

I love YouTube for a source of free quality traffic. Especially since YouTube is much easier to rank for competitive terms since less people are willing to take the time to put together a video.

      Hi,

Just to say there's competition in any business, specially in Online Marketing, so that should not put off, instead you have to find a way to beat your competition.

Do you think a website tour type video will bring traffic? It would basically show someone how to do something using my website (how to use the website). The keywords im targeting will be what they are trying to do - my site allows them to do this.
    Hope this makes sense.

    Hey Guys,

just a question/clarification. When you are talking about youtube/vimeo videos as a part of the strategy - what's the exact funnel or process?

Are you suggesting embedding videos in a biz site, or posting youtube videos on youtube.com that people then share and like?

    Hope this question makes sense.

Essentially I am trying to ask, what drives people to the watch the videos, what's the path, where do they enter the traffic flow? What is generating the views or hits? Or do you simply post something engaging and interesting and let people find it?

Thanks guys, enjoying being back on this forum

    All the best!!!

      Hi,

A traffic flow to your video on YouTube could be driven by many factors like your topic, keywords, subscribers, your comments to another's videos, etc...

A large portion of my traffic comes from youtube. This is what I normally do - I convert my articles into videos using Powerpoint and then add some pictures before using Camtasia to record the powerpoint while I read out the words verbally. Then I have a url link at the bottom of the videos that either link to my site or link to the vendor's site if I am promoting their products as an affiliate.

I never embed youtube video on my main website because the visitors can click on the Title or the youtube logo and be directed to youtube. I use easyvideocreator sofware to upload a video to my site instead.

Guys! YouTube is amazing! I just been spending time looking for videos that get a lot of traffic with no links in the description. I contact those individuals and try to buy their videos, If that's not successful, I share my commissions with them! I LOVE YOUTUBE!

What a lot of people forget (or don't realize) is that YouTube is set up to be a social networking site. It has almost all of the same social options as FB: voting, messages, comments, etc.

So the real key to any successful video marketing campaign relies on the fact that you have to form relationships with people. These people will eventually become customers.

It's very true. Video marketing is very powerful especially YouTube. People love to watch videos.

YouTube is the second largest search engine after Google and gets 3 billion views per day.

It is still young and there are plenty of opportunities to monetize YouTube videos.

I agree. A lot of people, myself included, do not truly utilize the potential that YouTube has. The sheer amount of visitors it gets makes it an incredibly powerful tool to gather visitors, specially for certain niches.

Another platform people do not make fully use of in their marketing strategies is Facebook. You can get targeted leads there for free, or even through paid ads. YouTube and Facebook could be the difference between success and failure.
