WordPress Appointment Booking Plugin for Offline Clients?

11 replies
Hello Warriors,

Just wondering if any warriors use any kind of appointment booking plugins for their site. This would encourage customers to book appointments with you, and make a payment right away. I'm looking at several WP plugins, that allow you to have a calendar on your site, and it lets your clients schedule an appointment with you from there. It syncs with google calendar, and all sorts of fun stuff. Just wondering if anyone has tried this with success. My main customers are offline local clients, does this sound like a good idea? Would be interested to hear feedback.

    I tried several appointment booking online services for a client of mine (I'm a web/blog developer) and ended up with "check appointments.com".

    It wasn't the prettiest or the most feature rich - but it does sync with Google's Calendar (for smartphones), our main requirement. And it's been reliable for 3 months now. No complaints.

    It's not a WP plugin (didn't find any really good ones), but generates a script to put in a WP page or text widget. You access either their website + calendar or your gmail calendar to use their service.

    Hope this helps...

  • Thanks will check it out. There was a plugin on codecanyon, and a couple of other ones I'm considering. Have people actually used it to book appointments? Is it a viable way to get people to take action then and there? I am looking for ways to make it as easy as possible to reach me or contact me for appointments.

    Yes, people use it and my client and his wife use it without issues. Basically, your options are to setup (or not):
    * Locations
    * Staff
    * Staff availability hours
    * "Classes" (appointments for groups)
    * Costs
    It's somewhat customizable. I believe they have a 30 day free trial (most do).

    If you want to see it in action, here's the WordPress blog I built them:

    Echo Rock Therapy Center
    [sorry, as I'm new here I'm not yet allowed links]

    Cheers!

    Another option is Bookeo.com - it's an online service, but it also has a WordPress plugin to go with it. It can do individual appointments, classes, tours, etc. Also syncs with Google Calendar, iPhone...
    I'm biased as I work there, but it's worth researching all options!

  • Thanks for all the great advice. I'm going to check out some free trials, and compare them all, and keep the one I like best.

    I know Fast Secure Content Form has scheduling options as part of the plugin.

    Plugin Main Page: wordpress.org/extend/plugins/si-contact-form/

    Excerpt from that page:
    Scheduling, Meeting and Payments via vCita:
    • Offer visitors to Schedule Meetings as part of your Contact Form
    • Set your availability and synchronize your contact form with your Google calendar
    • Meet online with web-based video meeting room
    • Meet over phone conference
    • Record your meetings
    • Collect payments and bill for your time and services
    • Send a payment request once a meeting is completed or secure a fee in advance according to your hourly rate
    The plugin is free. I'm not sure about vCita, however. Hope that helps.

Its a Turnkey out of the box plugin with no third parties involved. its stand along with a lot functions, yet extremely easy ot operate.

    i strongly recommend to check it out.
