So what tools do you use to run your online and offline business. What CRM, invoicing, project management, etc.. tools do you use and like?

I'm currently using:
  • Invoicing - Paypal
  • CRM - KarmaCRM
  • Project management - haven't found a solution yet..

I just found this app for invoicing: invoiceapp.com

It's free, it's online, it's easy to use. And gives you an edge of personal touch over paypal.

Invest in Quick Books for Mac or PC. It's worth it after you bump your head learning it. Growing pains.

    Invoicing -- Freshbooks
Accounting -- Kashoo (don't really use that much, want to get quickbooks soon)
Project Management -- Write Aid (AWESOME project management tool specifically for writers)
CRM -- SLOWLY migrating to ZohoCRM

I used ZohoCRM before, but never really liked it.

  • I use vTiger CRM for invoicing, CRM, project management, customer service, etc. It's highly customizable, and has everything I need to manage my team (VA's, Sales, Interns, Programmer's, etc.). We can even chat with each other through vTiger...

What I'm noticing a lot of throughout these posts is combinations of software being used to achieve a workflow. The problem here is, when you're using multiple apps to manage everything your business does, it creates an inefficient, counter-productive workflow and is pretty discouraging to use. Your data's spread throughout multiple apps, you're paying multiple subscriptions, and you don't get any of the benefits you would from keeping all data central.

There's apps that combine CRM, project management, billing, time tracking, and other tools into one app. WORKetc is a great example, combining all of what i've listed above with Google Apps integration, mobile apps for iPhone and Android, and numerous other features (email marketing, calendars, dashboards, business wide reporting, etc).

With WORKetc you can manage the entire lifecycle of your clients in one system; bring in leads, manage your sales pipeline, then convert any won lead directly into a project. Collaborate with clients using the client portal, track time, manage a list of tasks, and then all billable items you create (i.e. timesheets, expenses, products, milestones) can be pushed through to billing directly, and you can put all these on an invoice for your client. Everything you do with a client then shows up on that client's history page. There's numerous other benefits as well, I'd recommend looking into a consolidated business management tool if you want to save some time and cash!

Wow! I'm surprised no one uses Basecamp for project management.

    I use:

    Excel Sheet
    CSV Sheet
    and Google Docs.

Used to use Basecamp, but haven't in a while. Just out of not wanting to pay or use their free version. haha.

Some weeks ago I came across Bunker App (Bunker App - The smoothest way for freelancers to manage their projects and invoices.) and it's looking very good:
online crm, projectmanagement, expense tracking and invoicing with your own designed invoices. It even has a separate desktop time tracking software. The team is releasing updates very frequently and is responding very quickly to problems/questions.
And another big plus: only $5 a month for unlimited projects.

I was noticing invoiceapp seems to be just for invoicing. Is that correct? Also those that use Bunkerapps, can you integrate a payment link..I'm assuming so since it creates a pdf?

It seems as if no one knows the answer to this. Some project management software is free, but it seems to go approximately 25-100 dollars per month for a few users.

I like evertyhing to sync with google, be able to have an APP, and be easy and quick to use. A lot of project management software is too old fashioned and designed for being the head of a large corporation. Tasks these days are smaller and more frequent. Therefore a project management solution that fits this is appropriate.

The best that i can find is liquidplanner, Wrike, and clarizen. I believe clarizen is the only one with an app and it is relatively slow. However, some of these may work well as a mobile website, but this typically burns through battery and system resources much quicker as well as works slower.

I am still Figuring out the 3.

We perform SEO, web design, we manage social media and much more. There is some outsourcing and many variables coming together.

Clarizen has some good billing options built into the software that i believe integrates with quickbooks. Im still looking and it seems like quite the challenge to find the correct software.

In my end we use Latitude business management for all those modules. It's a CRM and PIM application, it can do job costing, timesheets, quotes, invoices and reports. Pretty neat and it is easy to maintain.

I use Apptivo software to run the business, this software provides all services in a single platform. Services are Invoice, CRM, Project management, Expense management etc. It's easy to use, online payment gateway also available to transfer money through online, now they launch the new version in Invoice and CRM both are pretty good.
