Does the shared SSL at Host Gator satisfy the Facebook Fan Page requirement? I'm on the Baby plan and I get a shared SSL it says. Wondering if I have to buy an SSL still for fan pages?

    Shared SSL wouldn't work for Facebook. You need your own domain SSL for that. I have tried shared SSL but some times browser gets error. Also when we need SSL it required own dedicated IP address.So, instead to save few bucks just go with your own SSL+ dedicated IP, this will save your time & energy best at all without any problem in future. If you still want to know more about SSL then you can share your problem here SSL Corp | Facebook you will definitely get solution of your SSL problem.

    YEa, my shared SSL hosting is not working for everyone. Some people are reporting to see this error when viewing my fan pages:

    SSL connection error
    Unable to make a secure connection to the server. This may be a problem with the server, or it may be requiring a client authentication certificate that you don't have.
    Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): SSL protocol error.

    If anyone knows how to get around that I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, can I setup a dedicated IP address on my domain via my hosting and then use an external SSL certificate on that same domain?

    Hostgator cost is about $75 / year for the dedicated IP and SSL certificate. This sound about right for cost? Or can I do a combination and get it cheaper per year?

    It would be great option if you own have dedicate IP and SSL certificate for your face book fan page. If you gone have Dedicate IP + SSL certificate from the major SSL Platinum Partners then it would be less chargeable with SSL coupon codes.
