Affiliate Marketing Worth It For Beginner?

I've always dreamed of doing IM, but never really knew where to start. I just came back from a wonderful Alaska remote cabin vacation & it really reminded me how much I'd like to work & live where I want vs. where my employer needs me. Most say the best way is to succeed in IM is to match your personal interest with a Niche market. I totally agree, but this is very tough when your interests are very common - I'm probably not the first person on the net who likes Tech . Until I get that brainstorm idea, I was thinking of trying to get my feet wet with affiliate marketing. Training programs like UnstoppableAffiliate and ProfitStorm5 seem to suggest there's still plenty of opportunity in this IM segment for those willing to put in the time and effort. Would most of you agree that this is still a viable option for part or full time income, or is this mostly hype and/or over-saturated?

read around this forum for awhile and pick something to get your feet wet with...they key is to take action...you will never know everything or feel you do...you just have to step up and take action and learn as you go......find a niche doing keyword research, find a product, create a site with valuable content, do seo, get traffic, create a list, and scale up....just learn the basics then start going at it...i had NO CLUE where to start or what to do...as have many others...you just gotta get a little bit of a grasp and start....its all about testing and seeing what works.

it takes a lot of time in most cases, so dont give up and keep going forward.

in most cases it sucks starting out...you do a ton of work with very little return...but realize its a marathon not a sprint....in the end it will all work out

    1. Yes, most people agree that affiliate marketing is one of the best ways for beginners to get started.

    2. The fact that a lot of people are in the tech niches means that there is money in them... Why can't some of that money be your's?

    3. I don't know about those particular programs, but yes you can earn a full-time income with affiliate marketing. Just because tons of people are doing it doesn't mean you cannot do it better and take your share.

    Hi there,

IM is a fantastic way to start your business online. But it will take time, effort and a lot of patience. If you are a person that enjoy planting a seed and watch the plant grow slowly, then this business is definitely for you.

Affiliate marketing is a great way to get started. For some affiliate marketing is all they do and they make a very healthy full-time income. The majority of my online income is from affiliate marketing, and it is how I got my start.

As you will hear (read) over and over and over (and over) on this forum... any type of business model can make you money online.. given that you take sufficient action and stick with it long enough. Affiliate marketing is a great way to get started IMO. Even though I've been an "internet marketer" for well over a decade now, and have my own products in certain niches, I've always made it a point to have a large chunk of my income coming from affiliate marketing. Why? Because of the fact that once you have it set up, it can be fairly hands off. I have affiliate sites which I haven't touched in AGES which are still getting sales.

Despite the pandas running wild and this network getting slapped and that company being dragged on the street by Google, etc, all these affiliate sites only get older, gain pagerank, and become 'authoritative' in Google's eyes, plus they get shared and recommended by visitors and generate non-search engine traffic (if the site is worth sharing of course). Even if a site loses rankings here and there, it still generates the occasional sale here and there. Depending on how much work you're willing to put into it, you can even have Google as your most insignificant source of traffic, so you don't end up crying whenever Google comes out with an algorithm update. You even have the option of flipping (selling) some of these sites after establishing traffic & revenue growth, if you're looking to cash out.

My point is, if you're into marketing your own products, then (among many other things) you're looking at providing customer service on a daily basis, or hiring staff to do so (and then monitoring that staff to make sure they're treating your customers well). If you're affiliate marketing, all that stuff is someone else's 'problem'. You just have to pre-sell the visitor and send them to the merchant's site and you're done. Somewhere along the line you can get the same and other visitors to opt-in to your list, and now you got them for life (or until they unsubscribe or the internet 'dies'). Provide value to these visitors and your affiliate marketing business will go a long, long way. Treat them like statistics, conversion ratios, and nothing more; and you'll be back to square one before you know it.

Regarding the last part of your post, any market can be over-saturated, but there's still enough out there for everybody, if you're willing to learn how to do it and then actually do it.

Affiliate marketing is a great way for a beginner to start and learn the ropes. There are so many awesome products out there to promote and test a market with.

The secret I found was to focus on a niche with at least 10 products in that niche selling well. That proves other people are making money and you can too.

    Then I focus and persevere...

I'll build a simple WordPress blog and then buy and thoroughly review every product. Sometimes a lengthy blog post works, or a YouTube video, or both.

The mistake I made (4 yrs ago) was doing this in one niche, and enjoying it so much, that I did it in another, and another, and another... Until I had over 50 and forgot to promote any of them!

When I realized my mistake I focused on promoting one of them and made over $80k in a simple hobby niche (in 12 months). Now I have a system which promotes all of my affiliate blogs every day.

I have never had a niche that I couldn't make money in, but some products convert better so you need to test. Some niches you would be better getting them to optin so you can build trust and then sending them offers. Some niches I've made more money just with a simple Adsense ad. Some niches are seasonal... It just depends! You need to test, test and test some more.

Hello and welcome to the Warrior Forum. If you want to make real money with affiliate marketing (and various other business models), you need to have a blog on your own domain. You should also know that two critera or deciding on which niche market you should go into are whether or not it's profitable and your personal interests. There's going to be competition is every profitable market you go after, but that's not a bad thing. It just means that there is more stuff to promote.

When you compete in a niche, you're actually competing for keywords. The most profitable keywords are those that are product-related, and when you're in a profitable niche, there are tons and tons of them, due to the vast amount of products there are to promote. There's a lot to go after. Remember, it's easier to make money by getting a small piece of a big pie than the other way around. Trust me. I'm in the IM niche. Go for it! :-)

    Good luck,
    Joey

Before starting i would suggest to read , read and read. you have to gather all kind of information. the main thing is that you have to understand what is your status, what can you do and what will be your future. If all of them are positive then you can start working. :0

If you're going to be an affiliate, stick with one decent-sized niche until you're making money with it.

Also, try to stick with just one system until its making you money. There are tons of posts in the WF or stuff in the War Room to help you find a good system.

Affiliate marketing is doable. Your goal is to become a 'super affiliate'. Keep in mind though, Google is not very friendly to affiliates, as they are known to de-index a site if they deem it a 'thin site' or 'affiliate site'. However, you can make money. It is often a slow, slow process in the beginning.

Many people will funnel people to their "money site" in hopes of building up traffic and eventual sales. There are a number of ways to do it. The most successful establish a sort of following of people, usually through social media and then gently encourage them to visit the site.

You will probably hear arguments for trying to make money other ways. And perhaps some other methods are better. My advice, if you're just starting out, is to sign up for HubPages and create a bunch of pages that people would want to read. If you can make money there then you could probably make it with your own site. *Incidentally, Hubpages just got bought out, so I don't know what will happen. At the very least you could use it as a backlink to your money site.
