Traffic spike, how to maintain?

I got a traffic spike (and sales) for a keyword for one of my sites, I have not done any promotion for this site and keyword for many years so it was a surprise for me, I have a small recollection that I sent an article with a submission software to article directories a long time ago, could it be that these directories are old and rarely spidered. Or could it be that people are actually naturally start linking to me?

But my question is how should I proceed in order to maintain this traffic? (about 50 extra visitors /day)

Sincerely
Karl

Keep doing what you are currently doing to get traffic to this other site. Create new content for it, and even add another traffic strategy to implement each week.

Karl - do you have analytics installed on your website? You'll be able to see where the traffic is coming from. This will help clear up a lot of confusion plus you can try to ramp up the sources that are bringing you good traffic.

since you know that keyword is profitable, try to get more search traffic for keywords that are very similar to it (suggested by google instant search)

    Those keywords are really profitable.
