Interesting refund process

I put up an offer a few weeks back just to test out the for hire section and grab a few new customers since I was between writing projects for my regular clients. Get a couple orders and think, hey this is okay for some extra writing gigs. One person decides to order, does not bother to read what topics are available that I am willing to write about - okay fine, I will be nice and TRY to accommodate their request.

Side note - I do not outsource my writing gigs, I write them myself and provide certain topics that I have a fair amount of knowledge in so I can guarantee the quality of the work the customer is getting. So if it is a topic out of my realm, it is going to need to be researched - research on some subjects is going to take time. I informed the person of this and they seemed fine with it. Even though I was confused as hell considering both he and his wife or girlfriend .. whatever the case may be, were both emailing me at the same time about the order. .. one wanted this information, the other wanted other information - plus an intro aka sales page (not my speciality).

Now I am not sure, but the last time I checked after working in this industry for 15 years, we did not send hourly updates on progress! You know it takes a few days, week or two depending on the subject matter and what QUALITY information can be had on the subject, so I can ensure I deliver a QUALITY product.

Last night I log into one of my accounts and find out that this person is now claiming that someone made a purchase from me with their account that was unauthorized. So what someone hacked your paypal account to buy content to promote your business! What an awesome hacker, that they actually took time out of their busy hacking day to think of you and your business!

There is my very first WF refund story .. I dont have a history of a lot of refunds in my paypal account, in fact there are none, because the majority of my customers have been with me for a LONG time. So hopefully paypal will unfreeze the mess. And good luck to the newbie marketer that placed their order ...next time just ask for a refund instead of concocting a story with paypal and telling them a hacker broke into your account to help you with your business.

That is all

WOW! Laurie, I certainly hope that PayPal sees how ridiculous that story was. If i were you, I would send them this post. That should clear things up. It certainly works for me.

Yeah I'm going to screen shot it and give them the link as well .. plus the emails .. this could all have been avoided if the sale went as stated in the offer or if said person would have asked, "can you write about this subject as I'm thinking about placing an order?" .. That's what everyone else usually does. Don't lie about it!
