I thought this was really interesting to share.

Doing research for someone, I found that Pinterest is now up there near Reddit.

Pinterest's global alexa ranking is already #53.

Seeing as it's only been in the top 100,000 since the middle of 2010, that's outstanding.

We should definitely be keeping our eyes on this and start using this towards our advantage.

Pinterest was really tremendous site increased to the top in very short time.

This is one of the best site to get refferals and backlinks as well.

  I'd say there are a couple of ways.
  Firstly it's probably a good place to build backlinks. Which in turn can make money.
  Secondly, it's a very visual media, kind of like a Twitter that would be based on pictures instead of text. And you've got 80% of women in there. So nice stuff to sell with attractive pictures could do well. I'm currently starting with Amazon's affiliate network and I hope if done the right way it could bring results. Time will tell. Their pictures look too... "Commercial" to me I had hoped they'd have pictures that would look more natural and real-life instead of girls wearing dresses on white backgrounds but well... We'll see.

Classic example of how Pinterest can get you into google organic search:

I had someone buy one of my Pinterest marketing gigs off my site. He wanted his product for:

apple cider hair rinse

to be on Pinterest. I pinned 3 products, named the board:

apple cider hair rinse

And now he has number 6 spot (well, my Pinterest page with his product on it) for his product in Big G search.

I guess I'm missing out here for some reason. I've a ton of twitter followers and a good amount of Facebook fans for my businesses, but what is it about Pinterest that makes it so "hot" especially amongst female users?

I am concerned about most of the pictures being copyrighted and passed around, which could get some people in trouble.

I hear it is pretty good for marketing, but how are people getting around the problem mentioned above? You pin someones picture, or use the picture and redirect to one of your sites, you may be using copyrighted material.

No need to buy nor ask anyone for invite.

Just go to Pinterest and signup at the "request an invite" button and you'll get one in a day or two.

All this exclusivity is just a marketing gimmick.

I jumped in already a few weeks ago. Pinterest seems to be a hot trend right now and I think it will soon become as popular as twitter and facebook. There are lots of talk about them and now is the best time to join.

Their fast user growth is just amazing.

Pinterest is here to stay and we internet marketers need to start tapping it. I started Pinterest about 2 weeks ago and already getting a lot of backlink juice from it. Going to start looking into affiliate commissions direct through Pinterest now.

The quantcast results are slowing going down but still seems to be a huge website and constantly active.
