Affiliate Marketing Site Management

So.... I'm very interested in affiliate marketing, but I do have some early concerns. The first major concern I have is spreading myself too thin. I know this question is on a per-person basis... but how do you do it? and why?

Do you have multiple site? 10-20 different affiliate marketing sites? and how do you manage all of those sites and it's contents? How do you keep multiple blogs going?

Or, do you just have one site and continually pump content into that site?

Just curious as to how some of you have managed your affiliate marketing network or system.

The best is if you focus on one niche, especially in the beginning.

Find out everything you can about that niche and soon you'll be the expert.

But doesn't that take a lot of time? it could take 6-12 months of effort into 1 site... and it might not even make any money. Seems like a huge time investment and time risk.

The best move you can make as a novice is to focus on one area until you learn the basic tricks of the trade. You can quickly fall prey to information overload and definitely spread yourself so thin that you never become knowledgeable about anything in depth.

Tell me about it! I'm learning SEO, Web-Design, Web-Development, Wordpress, Google Analytics, Affiliate Marketing, and on top of that!!! learning about the niche! not to mention the time it takes to read and learn about all of those subjects, the time it takes to create everything and the time it takes to create content! ohh and did I mention my full-time job!!!

It's a good thing that internet marketing is my job, hobby and passion or I would be in a real pickle.

I think you're falling into the trap of over analysis.

Instead of working so hard to analyze exactly how affiliate marketing is done, why don't you just start doing it then compare your data with what other marketers are doing to see if you're strategies are effective and scalable?

I had only one site for affiliate marketing. And now I do affiliate marketing without a website. Btw, you can join affilorama for free. It's very great resources for affiliate marketing.
