Could this be considered spam?

I'm thinking about about adding a couple of plugins to my wordpress blog that would send a notification to twitter, facebook and perhaps g+ and/or some other services stating theres a new post and a direct link to it. that would allow me to build separate audiences in each service to get more traffic.

The websit ein which this will be implemented when everything is ironed out is a chess one and I create most of the content but the one in which i test it out first is an autoblog (the one in my signature).

Since everything is automated in there and none of the content is original could that be considered spam?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Sorry to be a pain but I could really do with some input on this. To some extent what im asking is if, say, the huffpost connected each post with an announcement on both twitter, facebook and a few more outlets that promoted each post to bring traffic to that specific post, would that be spam, considering they dont write most of their content?

    Thanks again for your help.

No this will not be considered as spam. Do note that if you seek social interaction that this is not the way to go.

Well, my idea is basically to use those services as "tickers" of my new posts, so to say. Im pretty sure they need to be used in more ways tan that, however, what I hope to achieve with this is the ability to build my audience in different platforms to bring traffic from sources other than the Google SERPS. Is that a bad strategy in itself? If it is, better to know right away before I misuse my time.

No! It's a good thing. I use it on my non-profit blog as well and the most traffic comes from the social areas. StumbleUpOn, Facebook, Twitter.. The likes!

There are programs that automate mate process as well. Here are two that would suit your needs.

I wouldn't consider it spam. You are sending out a notice from your site to your facebook/twitter account. Lots of websites do that. It's a good way of letting your audience know you have a new post.

Essentially what you are doing is Pinging other social networking sites when you add a new post so no, it's not spam. This is a very common occurance.
