FURIOUS with Hostgator---Can Someone Please HeLp me?

Hi Fellow Warriors. February has been such a frustrating month for me.

I had hosting through hostgator and decided to bump up to a reseller account so that I could try my hand at domain flipping. I contacted hostgator, told them that I wanted to upgrade and wanted them to transfer my current files so that I wouldn't have any down time.

Well, they transferred my files which used to be hosted at theonlinereviewer.com with subdomains of dui.theonlinereviewer.com and learntosingonline.theonlinereviewer.com

Obviously, those links no longer work, even though I just spent $$$ to get traffic to them.

No, I have a reseller account that host theonlinereviewer.com account but I have no clue what happened to my files.

Hostgator has quit responding to my pleas for help.

Would someone be willing to PM me and I can give them my cpanel info and see if they can get my files straightened out.

I would really appreciate some warrior love.

That's confusing. Were they already hosted with HG or with someone else?

But - you have to explain the problem clearly to HG, and stay cool when asking.

Have you created the account in your reseller WHM and added the subdomains? I've never known HG to just drop a support request - so wonder if you have done what's needed at your end or what they told you to do.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

I've found I have much better luck just picking up the phone and calling Hostgator for anything but the simplest things. Start with tech support, and if you don't get the result you want, call sales. Tell them you need help getting to the right person in tech support because the ones you've communicated with aren't helping and stopped responding. You should get results - or at least an answer - toot sweet.

Call them or use the Live Chat. Last time I used the chat, they helped me out tremendously. I accidentally deleted a .htaccess file that was required for my wordpress to run, and they re-uploaded it for me.

I have worked with hostgator on several accounts over the past few years. I have a couple servers and two reseller accounts. They have always been good to me. I use liquid web for my sites that I am serious about though. Hostgator is not the best company for expansion or for high traffic sites. Also, their tech support is limited on live chat and over the phone. The only way you can get technical help is usually by emailing their support. As far as the problems that you have mentioned, it sounds like a communication problem. I think you would be better off calling them or emailing support.

Like the above posters recommend, definitely give them a call. I just love HostGator because I think that their customer support is OUTSTANDING.

Instead of putting you on hold while they look into something, they multi-task and actually have a conversation with you. At least that has happened to me.

I like the personal attitude and great experience I get with them, so if you are having trouble I am sure it is just a simple misunderstanding.

      Best of luck,
      -Christian

Sometimes I wish they have a phone customer service instead of chatting with them all the time.
