Starting Out...Need Advice!

Hey Warriors, I came across this great community while searching ways to earn income online. And like many others who are just beginning to get into this business, I have one question--Where do I start? After doing some research, reading countless of threads/forums, looking for answers, I felt overwhelmed and lost with all the information that i gathered. So do you have any recommendations and/or advice on what to do?
P.S. I have around $200 in my savings account to invest into this...

(Just a quick background: I'm a junior in high school (16 years old), looking to earn and save up money for college as it is only a little over a year from now. Finding a job around where i live is very difficult, forcing me to look for an alternative way to earn money).

I would start with niche marketing, and if you have $200 here is how I would spend it:
    1. buy a good training program for less than $50 - I can help you find one - careful cause some are real crap....this training will help you understand this game...
    2. $50 on website development and content development
    3. $100 for seo services from odesk....some people charge $1 an hour! that's 90 hours of SEO work. (some fees apply...)

If you choose a niche that has an affiliate offer that pays $30 - 40 per sale then you can maybe make all your money back in more in less than a couple weeks....but best of all you will now have a good niche site that probably ranks in the SERPS, and now you can sell it on Flippa for $1000 or more....

Here is a Newbie Checklist that might help you out. It was an open thread, here on the WF, but the mods thought it was too awesome to stay open, so they closed it (that's the only explanation I can think of).

Depending on what you plan to do (there are countless methods of making money online) I would start by learning keyword research. Buying you a domain, and building you a website, or have one built for you. I would invest the money into outsourcing SEO services, and I would try to find a niche that isn't very competitive to start with. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick replies Do you have any successful training programs that will help me begin IM? I've seen a lot of programs offered in the WSO section but i'm not sure which one to choose. Cheap and effective would be great as my budget is very limited...Thanks!

The quickest and easiest way to start is to join the warrior forum war room. I believe the cost is $37. It's one of the best investments you'll ever make with regards to internet marketing.

You can get free access to every aspect of marketing in the war room...adsense, list building, making websites, wordpress blogs, plugins, generating traffic, graphics, email-squeeze page-website templates..the list goes on and on.

I would suggest you 1st learn about making your own wso to sell before getting into seo and ranking websites and adsense.....why?

Well, I launched my 1st wso about a year ago with no list, no jvs, no wso experience, no guru partners mailing for me, no affiliates, little research and I managed to put several hundred extra dollars in my pocket after about 10 days from launch. The wso only took me a couple of days to put together.

You can make money easy and fast with a wso, plus you get a list of buyers, not freebie seekers, but spenders. If it doesn't sell well, you're only out of about $40-$60.

Building a quality website and getting it ranked takes time and then, hopefully, it will make money. I'm not saying don't pursue that..just that it takes time when done right.

If you want to do a wso, I can save you the $19 fee for selling it through wso pro. Just let me know and I'll show you how to get a wso pro listing for 1 penny. If that offer isn't available anymore, I'll give you 1 of my $19 listings...at no cost to you of course.

I'm planning to release 3 wsos in the next 60 days and my 1st of the 3 can definitely help you out. Hit me up with a private message and I'll make sure to give you a FREE copy when it's ready.

Well, a lot of people start out with affiliate marketing, and they market to a very specific audience. Many of us agree that being a physical products affiliate is easier than referring sales for digital products such as ebooks. People generally tend to trust online retailers such as Amazon.com, and real products also tend to seem carry more value than products such as ebooks do. Anyone who goes the digital affiliate products route will tend to have to spend more time earning people's trust, though you can also make more money doing that.

I think the most important thing I can say now is this: Try to keep whatever you start with as simplified as possible. Back when I started, I had read a guide in which the author strongly encouraged creating info products, and he seemed to look down on affiliate marketing. As a result, I wasted a ton of time trying to develop a product because I thought that was my best chance.

My advice is, try not to get caught up in anything really complex, just because it might make you more money

You can start without investment or a little investment.....

You can start blogging, you may have any interest on that topic you can write blog daily and register for adsense account also.....

For seo, you can visit some seo forums and in few days you would learn as well.

It would work I think and you are not spending too much here...

you just need a domain name and hosting service which you can get in $20 to $30 as well..

Wordpress is easy, if you give few days...

    • Selecting a Subject Area Where Your Specialized Expertise is Valuable > Identifying Urgent Problems and Immediate Needs About Your Chosen Subject Area Which Others Can't Solve Nor Satisfy on Their Own > Developing an Effective Solution with Benefits Not Found Elsewhere or Selecting an Effective Affiliate Product with Benefits Not Found Elsewhere > Developing a Professional, Easy to Navigate Site with Beneficial Supplemental Content Not Found Elsewhere > Developing Effective Onsite Marketing Materials For Offers > Implementing Free and Paid Ways to Inform Target Customers About Your Site Content and Offers > Establishing Mutually Beneficial Relationships with Your Existing and Potential Customers

What subject areas do you have specialized expertise in? Among those subject areas:

Where will your specialized expertise be more valuable, in terms of helping others satisfy their related immediate needs and solve their relevant urgent problems that they can't satisfy nor solve on their own? Then:

Will your available resources allow you to develop an effective solution that they'll be willing to buy? This solution can be a service offer, a digital info produc, such as tutorials, guides, software and video courses among others, or a physical produc...

If your available resources aren't enough for you to develop such a solution, then: Pinpoint effective solutions whose developers are looking for affiliates to help them promote those solutions. Try out those solutions and select those that offer unique benefits not found elsewhere...

In any case, you then need to implement the following:

Market research. Zone in further on their exact relevant needs. What do they often talk about that's related to those solutions, their related needs and relevant problems? Where do they go to hang out online to talk about such topics? What sort of contributions should you leave in those online discussion portals for them to think and feel you're a friendly, expert source of useful content, info, advice, products and services with benefits not found elsewhere?

Keyword research. What exact match keywords are they using to search for updated, relevant content so they be more informed before purchasing such solutions?

Market and keyword research will help you develop your brand, develop the visual layout and aesthetics of your site, develop the content of your site, implement onsite and offsite SEO and funnel traffic from sites heavily trafficked by your target customers to your site..

Free PPC advertising. Since you're new and wouldn't want to spend all your money in paid advertising, only to get 0 to so-so results, then: If you're based in North America, then you can get a $10/mo or so hosting account from a hosting company offering $100 or more of free Google Adwords PPC credits and $50 or more of free Yahoo! PPC credits with their hosting accounts. There are also free Facebook coupon codes for new Facebook accounts that can give you up to $250 of free Facebook PPC credits. Use these free PPC credits to test out your target keywords, marketing materials and marketing campaigns, aside from driving buyer traffic to your offers...

Content syndication. Go to places where webmasters go to look for useful content they can syndicate on their sites for their viewers to benefit from. Submit your content for syndication. Also contact webmasters of contextually relevant, high authority sites heavily trafficked by your target customers and inform them that you have useful content which they can syndicate on their sites or include in their mailing list content for their viewers to benefit from, in exchange for banner ads or text links...

Solo email ads, private ad spaces and guest authoring. You can contact webmasters of contextually relevant, high authority sites with large mailing list subscriber, readership and membership bases comprised of your target customers. Negotiate deals with them, where they can get unique content in exchange for banner ads and text links. You can also pay for these solo email ads, private ad spaces and guest authoring arrangements, but, since you're starting out, I suggest going with X deals where you offer your unique content development services in exchange for these solo email ads...

Entice others to sign up as your affiliates. Develop a relevant digital info product with benefits not found elsewhere. Integrate your mailing list subscription process into the sales page on your site for this product, so your buyers can opt-in as your mailing list subscribers. Post this product on various affiliate networks as an affiliate product with a 90% or more commissions per sale percentage. This will allow you to have others promoting your product and your site for you, populating your mailing list subscriber base with buyer traffic in the process...

At this point: Since Google implemented their freshness update, I suggest regularly updating your site with useful, relevant content...

I just replied to a similar question on another thread so this is a similar reply (because I don't give different advice for the same question:-)

I remember when I was starting out and what I am about to tell you is exactly what I wish someone had told me. After years of trail and error and coaching and programs and mentors the one thing that almost every major successful IMer has is common comes down to 3 words.

    Build A List.

If you want to learn how to make money online now and in the long term start building your list NOW.

You can do this if you persist and you will make money.

    Persistence and Patience.

Its great you want to be independent using "Internet Marketing" and using "Warrior Forum" to learn. I applaud for your effort on learning, but information is not easily handed to you. My advise to you would be save the money you have, spend less. At your age its going to be hard due to age factor and not having experience. Keep in mind that where you live is not the only place thats been hit with not finding a job.

Start asking your friends who do have jobs, would consider referring you. Expand your network to increase your chances if you need immediate income.

you can learn to code websites or manipulate templates. Basically you can code or use word press. Best resource i have ever found. Tops the hundreds of courses i have ever bought for beginners in making money online.

    nicheprofitclassroom.com

the shoe money course 3.0 is also good to kind of better understand the mind set
    shoemoney.com

ryan morans products are great and for coaching kind of stuff Anik Sangal is pretty bad ass. YOu should also check out affiliorama.com you might like that one.

By far though if you are a beginner i highly suggest you take advantage of the course at nicheprofitclassroom.com

this is by far every newbies (or should be) number place to learn how to make money online. He makes it so simple (not that it already isnt) freakin amazing.

Your business needs to be about something that interests you, now at 16, I would suggest perhaps something like computer games, keep your $200, avoid the temptation to purchase any program or ebook that promises to earn you money, most are scams.

Marx from the Philippines has a great reply and I generally agree with what he says. Research is the key, you may need to spend months on research, homing in on what might work for you, which to be honest will not leave you with than much time to start earning for college fees, so you will need to get a paying part time job as well.

Very few people can honestly say they earn a living on the Internet, a few hundred dollars is what most people make
