I've been reading a couple books on branding and wanted to seek everyone's opinion on a couple things.

We all know how important branding is in shaping consumer buying habits. Building, growing and controlling our brand is crucial if we'd like to become dominant players in certain markets or niches. A key component in branding is the name of the brand. When it comes to IM, WE become the brand. Our name is the brand behind our products. And just as Gucci, Chanel and Burberry give a perception of luxury and exclusivity, our names give off certain perceptions.

Now, in my case, my name is shared by many and certain factors may have already shaped a perception in your minds when you see/hear an Arab sounding name.

So, I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

What perceptions, values and/or ideas are conjured when you see/hear the name Ahmed?

What about Darwish?

Does it make a difference when it's "Ahmed Darwish" together?

What about the name Alano?

What if it's Alano Darwish?

(This is pretty hefty... your answer might dictate whether I legally change my name jk.)
