This is easily some of the best s**t ive seen this year.

Just as good as the Cadbury Gorilla bear and as good as the fat african american guy from the junk yard ads.

Enjoy.

In America anyone can go straight to the top. And here's what's exciting- It is the bottom that is crowded, not the top.

        Hi,

This advert is like a joke. Don't get me wrong - I do like jokes. But should anyone take this "Ad Message" seriously?

It is totally different from Ads which are funny. Ads can be funny but they do deliver a "real" marketing message to the audience.

Put it this way, he had 4+ million views and counting. If EVEN 1% of those sign up then BOOYA theres 40K new customers, if half a percent sign he gets 20K, im pretty sure thats awesome.

This is a damn good commercial/parody. This will get across their younger target pretty well. It's fun, easy and low priced.

Awesome idea. Oh and you gotta love their tagline

When he tore his way through that paper-door thing I just lost it.

Btw, shouldn't this be on the off-topic discussion?

No. This is an Internet Marketing forum and this is an Internet Marketing video we are discussing. Its great for ideas, gets the grey matter working again for me.

I love the video. I think I've watched it a dozen times now already. It definitely makes me want to buy razors from them.

    I liked it.

I don't know if it's because I feel like I pay too much for razor blades (ask me about the one time I used the same one for just over 14 months before I broke down and paid for another) or if it's because I like continuity programs...

Either way, I think this was a great idea.

There is a growing consensus that "social" and "viral" are incredibly powerful marketing tools. I think an ad like this is a great way to have folks share it - talk about it - and most importantly, remember it.

    Cheers,
    -Adrian

Man, that was funny. The leaf blower at the end being used to blow the money around was classic.

This video does it for me! Clever, funny and they hit their market bang on. I hate paying Gillette or Shick far too much for stupid ****.

Although 1 blade isn't enough for me.

It's interesting looking at the comments of the video. Many people are signing up just because of the video and not so much they need blades.

It's like in Art & Copy where Leo Clow, Jeff Goodby and Dan Wieden talk about brands as people and how fun they would be if there were people. People often buy products from a brand just because they want to be associated with those people who support. Like a status symbol in a way.

I actually saw this a few weeks ago- as you said, it's got to be the best marketing video of the year (so far).

There were so many times where he caught me offguard- even right at the beginning.

    "Are our blades good? No.

    ....they're f*!&ing great."

    I died.
