How Soon Can I Make A Living Writing Articles?

Hi Warriors,

I want to start writing articles for webmasters and see if I can break away from hand-to-mouth living.

Will this be possible with writing articles online soon?

Please what is your best advice or road map for article writing success?

Because I need money badly, I cannot afford to fail but I don't know if I am cut out for writing good pieces. Again I am not a native English speaker.

You can do me a favor for taking your time. Kindly search my articles written at ezine articles (name: Oseremen Aigbokhae) to critic my writing to help me improve. You may be doing me a world of good.

Sorry I don't know how to provide a link to take you straight to EZA page of my articles.

I have a domain name for this purpose, Royalwriting.com. Unfortunately, I am at sea as to how to make static wordpress pages as a website to promote my work.

Thank you.

Where are you physically located - that is, where do you live? It'd take you longer if you lived e.g. in the EU than if you lived in, say, India.

First of all, your English looks pretty solid.

The best thing I can say is to develop that domain with some of your samples to add a layer of professionalism, then head over to the Warriors for Hire section and post an ad for free. There's a lot of demand here.

If you can write well and charge a fair rate for your work, you can make a good living very quickly.

Still, everyone is different. It may take very little time for you. It may take a while.

You will never know unless you try.

Get a website (with samples) together and then offer your services.

You could always build a free blogger or wordpress blog for now with samples to your work, rates, etc.

And there's a $20 fee to post in Warriors for Hire

You could also try the bidding sites, depending on how much you need to make per article.

If you can write well, there's still a certain technique to writing articles you should know that only comes with practice. If I were you, I wouldn't jump into paid writing right away unless you have someone to critique your work.

To get practice, I would go to Ezine Articles or other article directories and learn the format expert writers use to write effective articles that sell. Then, once your confidence level is up to par, put out a WSO and offer your services on the Warrior for Hire forum. And don't forget to create a site that explains your services, which also includes some writing samples.

You can also get work through freelance sites such as rent-a-coder.

    Good luck!

It takes time, it doesn't happen overnight.

First you need to write some samples, because potential clients will want to see samples.

When you are just starting out, some people give a few free articles to get testimonials. You may need to start out with really low rates to build a client base, references, and a portfolio.

If you do good, you will get clients recommending you to their friends.

Set up your website with your contact info so people can contact you.

If your English is not good, you may want to team up with someone to proofread your articles.

You can also try writing articles in your native language.

There are some freelance sites out there where you can bid on projects too.

Yes, and most importantly, do not forget to set your pricing right. Start with low charges, over-deliver in your work and content, and you will see improvements in your results, faster than you could think!

The more you write the better your work will become. With that being said, it is a great idea to be writing and submitting your articles. Consider putting together some packets of related articles about popular subjects like weight loss, gardening, dating, etc. You can then sell those packets as PLR content.

I agree with the others - if you offer a WSO with low rates (as an introductory offer) you will be able to make some sales and also get a few testimonials. That will help you build credibility very quickly.

I was making about $2,000 - $3,000 a month pretty much right from the start.

Have good article samples, have a Unique Selling Point if you can and start with the Warrior for Hire section.

To answer your question on how soon you'll be able to make money, I'd say pretty much as soon as you get your site up and running.

I started making money almost immediately but it wasn't much at all. However, you soon wake up and realize you could be making more than you are. I still write for another site although as you can see, I'm also just starting my own site.

That reminds me, if any of you would care to take a look at my site and offer some advice, I'd be really grateful.

If you can write good articles, why not use the articles for yourself instead of writing for others? Since all your articles are going to be unique, you can submit them to ezine sites and get very good backlinks to your own site. In the long run, you can see significant traffic as well.
