"Direct from the Manufacturer"

Hey guys,

If I have a website set up where I'm selling goods from a friend of mine (the manufacturer) but my website is under a different name, is it misleading or in any way wrong for me to state that what I'm selling is "direct from the manufacturer" (I have no mention of my friend's business on my site).

It's a white lie, so pretty unethical.

    Are you dropshipping?

You could call it that I guess?

My close friend recently just gave me an offer of his products at his cheapest rate so that I can make some money for myself and bring him more business.

It's obviously no issue with him, he doesn't care how I sell his products (his business is already quite successful offline just by word of mouth).

I don't think anything wrong. You can sale your friend's or any others products. Nothing unfair, nothing black or gray.
You are working as his reseller, it is your & your friend's internal matter, whether you can some commission or not. For buyer you are seller so all seller's risk will be yours as charge back etc, so it is better to clear every issue with your friend, as about your commission, quality as per declaration, deliver on time, charge back bearing etc. So many business are there in the net running on the same concept. Amazon & so many online stores are working on same concept.

If you're getting paid to sell your friends product either by commission, percentage of sales, as a broker, affiliate or whatever, then you are not selling direct from the manufacturer.
The idea of 'direct' is that the manufacturer is cutting out the middle person and the customer theoretically saves money.

What you say on your site is down to you, but your claim isn't true.
