Should there be some kind of ranking system for WSOs

go to amazon or go to fiverr or go to ebay and you have some sort of criteria to judge the seller, whether it's reviews or top-rated seller status or positive feedback but with WSOs it's so ahrd to judge

yes i know the system can be manipulated and the seller can get friends and associates to post positive reviews but I think the system is far more open to manipulation here than in amazon/ebay etc

also there is no real formal review procedure here for WSOs, just the seller adding some to his sales post and various people, usually with low post counts or possibly associates of the seller chiming in with sales-speak commendations

Is there any verifiable way to judge the quality of a WSO, a genuine method to weed out the top quality stuff from the mediocre stuff?

I am not a fan of the how the sales posts are written for WSOs - they go way overboard in my opinion in terms of credibility and realism in selling the product and I am automatically a bit sceptical of these to begin with but it would be great to have some authentic method of knowing what's good and what's not so good - any ideas for how to achieve this? (without having to constantly go through many WSOs and look for refund if it's not appropriate)

essentially i am looking for a value system to measure WSO quality - only one I can think of so far is number of replies/pages/posts - but that is far from a certain indicator of quality

Here's the problem: in order to measure the quality of a WSO, you have to know how well it's selling.

Only the WSO owners and their marketplace owners know this information.

WSO Pro and JVZoo already have listing features like this, but to aggregate it all in one area would be tough as it would require crawling all this data, possibly without the permission of the WSO owners.

Not 100% reliable, perhaps, but I judge it according to the reputation and standing of the Warrior selling it, whether there are testimonials from Warriors I know to be honest who have bought the product from that thread and actually used/tested it (not downloaded it 3 minutes before writing the testimonial), whether people posting have had download difficulties, whether the seller has answered questions well, what the sales copy's like and all the obvious stuff like that. Then I exclude video products, anything sold through WarriorPlus/WSO-Pro, and a couple of other things I personally dislike and won't buy.

And on top of that, most of them offer refunds, anyway, if you don't get value out of them.

How difficult is this to judge, really?

While some sort of ratings system would be great, I just don't see how it is feasible. How does it get integrated into the forum? And who runs it?

It's easier to find the good WSO's on your own than you think you know. You just have to fine tune one of these:

I have heard good things about chris farrell but it's also a lot of fairly basic stuff and a tad expensive at 37 dollars a month

bill myers is just 9 dollars a month but some say he is heavily focused on video

i'd like to ask who people think is the go-to man or woman for quality concise SEO training at an affordable price, someone who covers everything and reveals the goodies, the secrets, the top tips rather than just a general overview

I think you've highlighted perfectly how the system couldn't possibly work.

With all due respect to everyones financial status, for some people $37 is peanuts.

What is applicable for one person is not necessarily applicable to the other.

    Nathan,

Reading your OP my intention was to reply to you with a congratulation: based on what you wrote there you have ALL the tools (=brain) to judge when it's time to stay away from certain WSOs.

Then, in the post above you spoiled the joy

Any ranking system would immediately be manipulated by the users. And no, it's not a duty of WF to act as some sort of official that rates anything for sale here. The best ranking system is already in place. Anyone who has purchased an offer is more than welcome to leave comments in the WSO thread.

What you might consider trash, I might consider gold. There's too many factors to take into account; experience, ability, determination etc

It's really go to be up to the buyer to make their own decisions based on what they need for their business and to use their common sense when buying a WSO or anything else.

There's risk involved in any investment, especially in business. If someone is afraid to take a risk, then running a business probably isn't right for them.

Not only would any ranking system be manipulated as soon as it shows up, it would necessarily be subjective - someone's opinion. Your opinion on a WSO doesn't mean much to me. 'Your' is the collective 'your', don't be insulted. No one aside from me knows what I need when I look for a WSO. I may find some little nugget in an otherwise rehashed WSO that increases my conversions by 10%. That same WSO might be hard-drive fodder for someone else, and a waste of their money.

Sales do not equal quality. LOTS of factors determine sales and product quality isn't one.

I look at who is commenting and past posts and offers of the seller, if anything.

Here's how I rate the WSOs I buy...

    I don't.

It's up to me to understand and put to use the information I buy.

What anybody else does with it is irrelevent to me.

If it's crap I'll ask for my money back. I've only done that once that I can recall. If it's a cheap WSO I'll just let them keep the money. But I may spread the news.

Personally i think a ranking system for WSO's would be a bad idea because people would be able to easily give other WSO's bad ratings because they see them as competition or simply just want to be unfair.

best way is to use a combied number of things such as

how many have been sold on warrior plus, the conversions, refund rate

check to make sure the person selling the product actually is alive online somewhere
that actually provides free value so you can get an idea of what type of stuff your going to get

    look at there wf profile

    google them

these are the main things that i do if i want to find out more about somone to see if there a genunie marketer that provides lots of value or there just a fly by night cowboy that is just here to make a few quick buck

a lot of this game is building relationships and gaining trust so if they dont have anywhere online that you could find out who they actually are and there hiding behind a computer then that would ring a few alarm bells for me for starters

this is no sure solution to your questions however you will def be in a much better position to make a decision if you should buy there product or not

Here is a scary thing. I could probably get a dozen or so sellers to promote my product and it could be a total piece of crap.

Then you could have someone completely new to this forum with a kick ass product and no one even notices because he has no contacts.

Quality of the end product really has nothing to do with how well it is selling.
How well it sells has to do with the copy and contacts you have before putting it out there. It has something also to do with how in demand the product is.

Well, you are safe in that affiliate links are not allowed in this main section of the forum.

This will be ultimately up to you to research, read, weigh, and measure who it is you want to trust - and if you are looking specifically for SEO then that should be what you use in your searches. Forget about just "browsing" the wso threads.

And to add to that, there is no true "ranking" system in clickbank - only those popularity of sales results. That just says how popular something is - but I would bet my eye teeth there are a few quality clickbank products that just lack proper knowledge on how to market what they have and therefore go endlessly unnoticed.

Rankings are not necessary at all. You have so many criteria that you can run the WSO as well as the seller through that in the end, you can make your purchases with more confidence.

Just by looking at the customer reviews as well as the seller's responsiveness to current and potential customers, you should start to get a good feel if it is a good fit for you.

Also, look at non-WSO posts by the seller....That will often tell you a lot about the seller.

Finally, don't be so quick to buy a brand new WSO. It's hard to buy a new product without any feedback in the thread. Give it a few days so you can gauge it better!

I think there should be a ranking system on the person who is allowed to post a WSO...for example...you need so many relevant posts, you need to confirm income stats...etc....before you are allowed to even submit your WSO....so this might stop the cut and paste crap that is posted here by newbies self proclaiming their millionaire status...
