If you need money fast...

I've seen a few of these threads here. Recently, I had a few unexpected bills. I needed cash fast, so I looked at my options. I'm pretty good with KW research, writing articles, building squidoo lenses and blogs. However, I didn't really know where to find clients...then I started thinking, you have to go where people are....Facebook, Twitter etc.,

So I headed over to those sites and found a few clients. I found a guy who paid me $50 for an article 3 weeks ago. I found a client who paid me $110 for 5 squidoo lenses....I've ranked all her lenses on the first page of google for their keywords in less than 3 days and now she's a repeat customer.

The bottom line is that if you need money, you can't wait for business to fall in your lap. You have to get after it. I'm currently spending 3 hours per day trying to find new clients...is this a dream of mine? No. But it will keep me going until my other projects take off.

If you have a service you can provide to others....you're valuable! The work is endless if you make yourself visible.

As much as I like to work online, you brought up some thing I've never really thought about doing (Squidoo lenses for people to be specific). It's also nice to read short blurbs like this where people are successful! Thanks Bill!

Great post! That's great that you've found a way that works for you. I didn't realize that Squidoo pages were in such demand, that's great.

    Keep up the good work!

I'm not saying they're in high demand..lol. I just found people who were looking for them. That's all.

If you have a skill set, use it. That's my point.

I don't want to bash you, but content is very much in demand. Perhaps, your clients weren't too thrilled by your work or maybe you just aren't looking hard enough.

Good content will always be in demand online...at least in my opinion.

I get outstanding reviews. It just seems like everyone wants to hire the cheapest person for the most part. So I guess it comes down to not looking in the right places. However, each time I've gone into that Warrior section, I completely strike out and don't even get a response.

This post is excellent for motivation. Most people want things handed to them. If you want to survive in IM, you have to have the willingness to take action. You seem to have it mastered. Congrats on your success. I admire your drive.

Hey Bill this is a great post and a great lesson. In order to see success with your online business you can't just wait for the money to fall in your lap. You have to be persistent in your planning and actually taking action with what you mapped out!

    I have three questions:
    1. What are your services? Please explain them clearly. Do you find keywords? Do you write articles? Optimize them for Google? and ...?
    2. How much do you ask for your services?
    3. Why don't you do these for yourself to make money?

I find the keywords for your lens. I write the introduction. I do create lenses for myself. I never stated I didn't. If you look at my signature you will see that the first link there provides you with all the detail.

    Bill,

First off, great work! Facebook and Twitter is a great source of business. I tell people all the time that if they really want to boost their offline services/freelancing, just do simple twitter searches and offer your services....

Use the strings "How can I", "I need" or "Looking for" and add to it the services that you are offering, such as:

    "how can i" "article"

    OR

    "looking for" "backlinks"

    OR

    "I need" "squidoo lens"

People spill their guts over everything on Twitter, especially their problems that they need solved.....

Use the above search strings....Go solve their problems and get $$$!

I'm sorry, that whole idea just seems way too spammy to me. I get stupid spam replies on Twitter all the time. I know a buddy who had tax problems and all of a sudden 100 tweets were offering up services.

That type of searching for jobs should be reserved for the bottom of the barrel. If someone wants actual writing that's worth something, they'll find it.

Just reading this forum is amazing. If you aren't making any money online, I'm guessing that part of the problem is that you haven't really searched for answers or maybe you just haven't taken the time to test things to see if they actually work.

As long as there's webmasters, there's work to be had. If you don't have a skill set, learn. This forum is a goldmine.

I thought of doing this, but the only problem with it is that I'd imagine Twitter users would see this as spamming. However, an alternative might be to follow these users and then when they come to your page to see if they want to follow you back, they'll see your description where you offer your services

Either Long Beach, California all of a sudden became the most affordable city in the world, or you are the fastest (without sacrificing quality) writer ever. $10 per 1000 words is fast food working rates for someone in the USA.

You simply must get out of the IM niche if you want to start earning better money with more long term clients. They're out there. Here's a few examples:
For more options, check out Tom Ewer at LeavingWorkBehind.com and search for his Freelance articles. He gives away info for free that he should absolutely be charging for!

I take my time and make sure the article is up to par

As far as my rates, I've tried to make them a little competitive. From what I've seen of my competition, I think my prices are reasonably affordable without being ridiculously low.

Actually, I stopped submitting to EZA. I pursued something else. I'm not a fan of EZA anymore. I'd rather use Squidoo and my own blog or website.

This is great advice. I have been working my ass off for the past few days writing 500 word articles for $2.43 a pop. My goal is to write 30 high quality articles to enable me to reach the required level where I can quadruple my pay. With only 2 more articles to go, this will soon turn into a reality. When this happens, I will be able to earn a decent hourly wage.

Is it hard work? Of course it is. Is it fun? Well, I do enjoy writing, but at the moment I would not call it fun. I need money therefore I am prepared to work 10 hours a day to get it.

The most important thing and what people repeatedly fail to do is take action.
