Feedback on new Idea...

Hey Warriors,

do you think targeting a keyword with 1,600 global monthly searches and practically NO competition would be a good way to go or would you leave it alone?

I've always targeted niches with a lot more searches but because this one is practically untapped and seems to be growing rapidly I wanted to give this one a shot.

Would like to get some feedback before I move forward,

Have any of you had success with your campaigns with numbers like this?

Thanks

    What kind of traffic are you looking for, PPC or just ranking on the search engines?

    Well, I personally don't have much experience with those numbers, but I have seen other people saying that more than a thousand searches is more than enough to get a nice volume of visitors and eventually profit.

    In the end, it all depends on other factors like the quality of your website and if people are willing to spend money on that niche.

      A little bit of both.

      In the beginning I'd be paying for my leads that's why I wanted to know if it was a good idea. But maybe with the low competition rate I won't have to pay but so much for my keywords, which could be a good thing.

    The reason there's no competition is because there's no market.

      Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

        Yep. 1600 global searches could easily be racked up by a handful people doing keyword research.

    Just two questions:

    * Who's searching?

    * What are they buying?

    Where they're buying it is important too, of course. If they're shopping offline, and just researching online, you could monetize them with advertising, but in that case... WHO'S advertising? If no one is, that's a clue.

    INTENT is everything. You need to know why people are searching using that keyword, and what they do when they get where they're headed.

    1,600 searches is wonderful, if you can get traffic and monetize it. It's useless otherwise.

    I tend to assume that low competition means something -- that no one's making any money off the keywords. :-)

    Cheers

    Whats the cost per click? Do you have a product in mind that you can promote?

    Do you know anything about the niche? Is it a niche of people looking to spend money or just people looking for free information?

    Without getting into the numbers...

    If there is no competition I look at that as a bad thing. If no one else is making money in the market you need to consider if its worth blazing the trail (and there really is no unexploited markets).

    I've done really well with AdSense for keywords with that number of searches with that have a really high pay per click. If there really is little competition and your returns/earnings would be high, and/or if it converted really well, it might be worthwhile. But lack of competition might be a red flag too, as previous posters mentioned.

    I think the only way to find out is to try! maybe I am right or maybe I am wrong but what could you possibly lose? Time, a little dime here and then.

    the best way to know is to try and have experience. Try their opinions. and report here your experience.

    Cheers,
