Launch Jacking?? Do buyers prefer review or bonus?

I have been in launch jacking for sometime and it really is a hit or miss scenario. Somebody told me that most people who google dont exactly want a review they look for bonus.

So if you are buying a product what do you like a review or a bonus? Or a video that tells u that the product doesnt work and you should get some other product.?

Thanks
Ayush

For a bonus you should provide something that compliments the offer and raises value in order to persuade someone to buy from you.

    Reviews should accompany a bonus.

Wouldnt that mean buying plr stuff and just stating it as a bonus?

I would prefer to have a honest review. Meaning to say that the person who wrote a review on that product must first purchase it..

How to determine if someone is giving a honest review? I don't know, I just trust my instinct.

Does the PLR offer real value to the user?

    In my experience, not always...

p.s. Jeremiah: How do you know if it is an "honest review"?

Well to do proper and honest review the seller mus provide the product before so you can review which usually happens after launch.. thus you can't have enough time to rank your video..Thats the issue..

Well surely it depends on the keywords a person is using.

If they're using widget crusher review, they're looking for REVIEWS of Widget Crusher. (Which, by the way, isn't as good as Widget Smasher III in my opinion.)

If they're using widget crusher bonus... you get the point

The keywords determine what they're looking for, so why not create a page for one, and a page for the other?

So if you are buying a product what do you like a review or a bonus? Or a video that tells u that the product doesnt work and you should get some other product.?
What matters here is what SEARCHERS want, which is informed by their use of keywords.

I have personally bought both from both, but I think an honest review will be awesome. A video you owning it and showing it and also explain the pro's and cons is awesome. It shows that you purchase it, use it and have more credibility.

Bonus in my opinion must be manage carefully, because nowadays most people just offer crappy plr product and sometimes doesn't even even remotely have any connections with the main product. But when the bonus itself is so awesome that I dont even care about the main product, that is the BOMB!!!

I remember the time when WP MAGE is all the rage, Tim and Steve Claytons also were promoting the offer, and their bonus is AWESOME. I remember bit and pieces of it, but they have 1 or 2 software given out free, 10-20 WP templates, An Ebook, 8-9 ready made campaign including email swipe and what not. The bonus was so awesome that I want it badly enough, but sadly to say WP MAGE i could not get it because it so out of my price range. But that was one bonus I love to have my sweet hand on.

But i think the best combination will be both, give a video about the product you promoting and offer a genuine bonus that gives huge value to people, and people will purchase it. But if your doing only review, the best format is a short video no longer than 30min showing key features and what not it the best. I skim article, so i bet most people do to. Video however is more tolerable.

Anyway that my 2 cents hope it helps.

    Why not try both?
Create a post on your site with a review, and another with a bonus. Get them both ranked and link to each other.

I don't do lauch jacking but if it's an IM product then I go bonus shopping to see what's on offer. Most appear crap, irrelevant and turn me off.

I do like bonuses that save me time and effort (eg. lists of keywords for Amazon products etc).

great tips.In my opinion review is most important. If i am searching for product i want to see how people like that product what i want to buy. Also it is very important that i can see bonus page too.Basically if the review and bonus is reasonable then usually i will buy that product from the site.

I know this thread is a bit older, but thought I'd give the answer here since it is "my niche"...

The keywords have changed a bit over time in Launch Jacking. "Review" used to be the big keyword and you had to compete there if you were going to make serious money. Nowadays, while there are still more searches for "review", there is a much higher conversion rate for "bonus". The people who search for the keyword "product name bonus" have generally made up their mind to purchase, and now they are searching for the best bonus.

So, the answer is, its still wise to compete for both (and others), but the scales have tipped overall in favor of "bonus".

Here's a link to another forum thread where I have posted a short audio interview I did recently on Launch Jacking:

Sometimes you can turn a review into a bonus. I've done this with product reviews where I don't just review in my blog, but I compile it into a PDF and add to it.

So for example, let's say I'm reviewing Kindling by fellow Warrior Geoff Shaw or something. If there's a section about where to find ideas, I wouldnt give away his ideas, but I would say something like, "I also want to share my own top 10 idea generating tips."

The customer gets a good review AND some bonus text that complements the original material.

Agreed. Once I was promoting a CPA course and offered a bonus report on my personal CPA marketing strategies. This uses the "compliment" strategy I mentioned above.

(I ended up making $2K in profit in 24 hours. From a list of under 1,000 subscribers too)

Assuming you're doing this in the IM niche, a bonus is crucial.

People in this niche are more skeptical of reviews. Because they know you're an affiliate and you're getting paid to promote the product.

Plus, nearly everyone else is offering bonuses so if you don't have one, they're unlikely to buy through your link.

The key with bonuses is to offer something that will...

    1. Enhance their experience with the product you're promoting. Basically, something that compliments the product. OR
    2. Fills in a missing gap. Fills in something the product is missing.

This obviously means you'll have to do your research and know the product you're promoting. Get a review copy from the creator ahead of time. In a lot of cases, they're more than happy to help.

I like to take this one step further and shoot an 'inside look' review video. Why? Cause this allows me to STAND OUT and shows the prospect that I actually have the product. So I know what I'm talking about.

Plus, demonstration is one of the best ways to sell. That's why in infomercials, you always see people USING the product in a variety of scenarios. Much more powerful than just telling you how awesome the product is.

If you're selling software, DEMONSTRATE yourself using that software. If you're promoting an info product, give a preview of the PDF or video. Even better, show the parts with the "juiciest" information that the prospect really wants to know about.

(Usually, the product creator won't have a problem with this. Of course, don't go overboard and give away too much...)

Always focus on helping out the prospect solve their problems and get what they want and THAT'S how you set yourself apart in the overcrowded realm of affiliate marketing.

Frankly, I do not care much about the bonus. They seem to shout "buy from me!". What I want is good and accurate info when I am looking for a review so I end up sifting for people who are genuine about it.

Definitely bonus. Bonuses have helped conversions a *lot*. And if it's quality PLR, that makes it even easier.

At first, I will look for an honest review. Because the bonus is not needed for me.

    Ayush, they dig both

I'd change my mindset first; "hit or miss" scenarios are usually hit or miss because of poor planning, or lack of preparation. Learn your craft inside out, create something of real substance, to draw in a targeted, hungry audience, and using either approach will boost your income.

    All the best!
