Default 1ShoppingCart - Should I buy it?

Hi Guys

I'll be running my own events in the UK soon and I need to be able to pay affiliates who promote those events for me.

I've been thinking about getting 1shoppingcart for a while now and I also recently saw someone using 1startcart

Could anyone give me an idea as to the pros and cons of these two systems please?

Price, ease of use etc

Also, I use Getresponse, would I be able to move my subscriber details to 1ShoppingCart autoresponder section?

I'm not a techie type so I guess that should be factored in to your replies.

Thankss in advance.

Roy

Before you buy, look around, there are some free open source ecommerce packages out there.

I use 1Shoppingcart. But I *was* using AMember to manage affiliates. Now I've switched to Nanacast, though I still have 1Shoppingcart and Amember.

IMO look into the AMember/1ShoppingCart integration or, if you have the budget for it, look for more robust solutions like Nanacast, Infusion, AMS, etc. Good luck

Thanks. Ejunkie will let you track and pay affiliates and has an area where affiliates can log-in and see their own sales results? And itt has an autoresponder?

I'd still like to hear from anyone that has used either of the two services I mentioned please.

Thanks again.

As for 1Shoppingcart I don't know for sure but I have heard that if you are taking monthly payments for a membership site and the person opts out of your email list thru 1Shoppingcart that their system will stop billing them without warning allowing them access to the membership site without paying for it.

I hope I can find something easier to work with than ejunkie without forking over $127 upfront to test my new product.

If I come accross somthing in the next few days I will post my findings here

Is that really the case with 1shoppingcart. I thought they'd have better security than that.

Any more comments from fellow warriors about my OP?

Yes, E-Junkie has all of that. You have to manually pay affiliates, but they have decent setup as far as that goes. The only problem that I've had with them is the storage space is small. If you have videos, you'll have to go with a larger package. Still, its much cheaper than 1shoppingcart.

Hi Roy,

I use 1shoppingcart, have for several years now, and find it to be a great option. Someone mentioned that there are more "robust" options out there... which may be true... but if you need something relatively basic but definitely functional, I think it will meet your needs.

Affiliates can log in and check stats, get resources, etc... you can pull reports, pay commissions and send out commission notices with ease, broadcast to your affiliates, set different payouts for different products, etc.

If you have any particular questions you can PM me.

Best, Alan

Drawbacks I see the 1SC which I use for one of my products are you cant schedule a specific time (only a day) to send out emails which is a little silly, no 1-click upsell functionality yet (they say they are working on it but who knows) and not even sure if this can be done but it would be nice if their system tied into PayPal so that if I have to issue a refund I can do it all within 1SC... and not have to log into 1SC and PayPal to issue a refund.

Roy,

Many IMers use more than one means, so you may want to test something software first, something like Paydotcom that's not so pricey and full-featured with learning curves, etc. Then grow with other affiliate software as your sales and needs grow accordingly.

Example: you may go through a lot of time, effort and money setting up an affiliate program only to find the leads not really convert or the product not be a great seller, etc. So tweak your product, ads, marketing, etc. then try again to get all your ducks in a row. Once the math is there, then go for it with better or just more affiliate programs, to allow even more outreach possibilities.

Some affiliate marketers prefer certain programs to promote, like Clickbank, Paydotcom, etc. so you could open more doors to more sellers with multiple options.

Hey Roy,

There are a lot of solutions, from scripts that only cost a couple
hundred bucks to very sophisticated things like Infusion. With
many of them you will get features you will never make the time
to figure-out or use. Just being realistic.

What I suggest is you get very clear on what you want to
be able to do easily... learn the terminology if you have to.

Then get clear on what you want your affiliates to experience
on their end.

Prioritize: must have | nice to have | not needed

If you run a script yourself you'll maybe have more of a learning
process with it but at the end you'll be more skilled and
maybe even have more creative ideas to get the results you
want.

I have Fantasos. It can do a LOT of stuff but with that comes
complexity. I'm not saying the interface is difficult, just that
your head could spin with the possibilities.

It's nice to actually draw out and diagram your whole sales
process, OTOs, affiliate features, how follow-up work - on
big sheets of paper on the floor... or use 3x5 cards or something.

This can help you get the big picture and get clear on what
you really want the whole process to look and feel like to
users.

How about Googling "affilate management scripts"?

Best regards,

Gren.

Good lordy, he wants feedback from warriors who are using these programs not just to "google it". Roy knows about Google!

I am in the same postition as you Roy and have been seeking out options. Why are you learning towards 1shoppingcart over a clickbank / 2checkout type of system?

Hi Roy, I've been considering 1shoppingcart for a some time now. Those I know who use it, swear by it. They have lots of affiliates. From what I understand, 1SC has upgraded their system and have a lot of training videos now (I had a 30 day trial period but was too busy in product creation mode to really fully explore it). I posted a similar thread not long ago. The thing for me is justifying the cost of $100 per month since I use paypal to process all my online transactions currently. I'd love to hear what you decide to do.
