Hi WF

I lost my job last Tuesday, yes I know Happy Easter right.

When they said we will terminate your contract I broke down in tears. I am 22 years old.

My parents have advised that they will support me until I find another job, but at the same time I was so happy with this job and probably won't find better management, but hey who knows.

I had done something which I was unaware of as a policy and there was no intention there. It wasn't like theft or fraud.

In the meantime, I am looking to IM to make money in the next few months. I am a UK graduate and have some money on IM,but nothing consistent. Its like $35 every few weeks.

I am doing article writing, I do not have the time to build my own site or Blog. I just want as many clients as I can.

I need help basically, hopefully there are some people here that want some content.

I can't believe I am in such a position, but I need to learn and move on.

Does anyone have an ideas on how I can make a decent income from article writing.

Thanks all for your help!

Sure, why do any work...just make people come to you even though you have no experience and have said that you only want to make money.
I am a writer and I suggest that you DO take time to establish yourself and
let people see what sort of work you can do instead of "begging."
You don't get something for nothing and we all had to start somewhere.
Be grateful your parents said they will help you for a while.

You can check out sites such as vworker, elance and odesk and bid on jobs but you may only get a small amount of money so it's up to you how you want to run your business. I recommend building yourself up instead of chasing peanuts.

As someone has already suggested - take a look around the Warrior Forum but also, take a look at Digital Point forum, you may find something there.

If there is nothing ideally suitable and if it is a case of having to look at alternatives (eg, affiliate marketing, blog building) then it will be a case of spending time (or rather investing time) to get yourself up and running. Again, this forum and Digital Point will be good reference points to get yourself started.

      Best of luck.

      Regards

      Frank

Post an ad on the Warriors for Hire section (I think is is something like $20) and offer your writing services. If you can write high quality articles you should build a writer's website and market yourself, making sure you have many samples of your writing on your site.

I would think that now you have more time than ever before to build your website and begin establishing your website. Don't look at your writing skills as a second-hand way to make money. Some people make tremendous profit doing only that, writing. Like someone said before me, take some time to establish yourself, and people will want to work with you. If you come across as desperate for money, then people will most likely not take your writing skills seriously.

      Hi Player,

You say you are a writer? Why don't you buy Michael Hersh's copywriting WSO? He has a good rep here on the forum and stands by his product. Go on unemployment and learn how to be a copywriter. Remember, copywriters ALWAYS make money and they don't give a crap about Google slaps or Facebook changes.

      Just my "dos centavos"

P.S. Gary Halliburton made MORE money as a copywriter while in PRISON than he did outside.

Loosing a job at your age is like breaking up with your high school girlfriends. It seems like the end of the world but you quickly get over it.

    Now

If all you want to do is Article marketing go check out iwriter.com . Once you climbed a ladder there you can get more work than you can handle and get paid pretty decent money.

If I could give you an advice, one you get back at your feet get out of the article writing game. Writing articles is not IM its a job, you trade money for your time/value.
Look in to list building or building niche websites, this is the path to financial freedom.

    Good Luck my friend.

I would say join some freelance sites where you can sell your article writing services very easily, and article writers are in demand today..

I do agree that article writing is directly trading time for money; there's no automation, and that certainly has its downsides...But! That's actually an upside to most newbies because nothing else in IM lets you start off with that kind of assurance.

Does building a list/building websites/other Internet marketing "stuff" make you more money in the long run with less work? Yes - you can bet your bottom dollar! Does it have a much higher learning curve than writing articles? Absolutely.

I would highly recommend you look into posting your own or Warrior for Hire ad in this forum. Link to it in your signature and then start making about 10 posts a day around the forum. If you price yourself reasonably (~$0.02 or $0.03 per word) you'll be surprised at how quickly you get orders.

A few tips for getting started if you go that route:

    • You'll probably want to offer a few free reviews - NOT discounts - to get some momentum going.
    • You'll also need $40-$80 for advertising seed money.
    • Put your best foot forward, always and in everything.
    • If you start now you should be able to start making some steady cash within a week or two straight into your PayPal account.

    I hope this helps!

Freelancing isn't a great idea for article writing IMHO

    and ill tell you why...

As a UK graduate, you are competing with people from countries who afford to write for $3 article.

Now copywriting as a long term prospect is great idea.

Here is my two cents as a fellow Brit.

Write PLR content as sell it as a WSO. You are building a buyers list who like your talents as well.

Shoot me a PM if you get stuck.

No fret, my friend. You may look back one day and realize it was the best day of your life. What you have now is time and opportunity. Why work for someone else? Stability?? Ha, you found out just how stable working for the man is. Take this chance, grab it by the horns and don't look back. You can make sooo much more money working for yourself...article writer or otherwise.

Let me suggest a different route from what people have been suggesting above. Freelancer sites are indeed a good way to make a steady income, there is no doubt...but lets look at it from a different angle.

You can write articles all day long for others...OR you can write a few for yourself and make much more with less work. How? Easy. You are a writer...so write an ebook about article writing and sell it as a WSO here on WF. If it's decent you can rake in a few hundred bucks, initially. Then, just do it again :-)

All the while you will also be building a nice little list of buying customers. Yet another easy tool which you leverage to make even more money. And just to boot, I'm not sure if there is quite another single way of gaining popularity, exposure, and respect here than creating quality WSOs with high value to the customer. You'll make a name rather quickly.

No worries man. You'll be at the top of your game in no time if you start thinking (and DOING) in the right direction.

If you need any help, the people here are glad to...and feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to help you get on track.

Everything happens for a reason and it's always best to think positively. Who knows this job loss may provide you an opportunity of a lifetime to actually focus in a much concentrated manner on internet marketing? Many folks around here are blessed to have rewarding careers in internet marketing.

You are lucky that your parents are supporting you. Many people do not have that luxury. I'd suggest, you get a small job to support yourself and focus on internet marketing . If you have the hunger and desire you'll never want to do anything other than internet marketing. Good luck with everything.

I am very sorry to hear that you lost your job, and can imagine how devastated that must have felt. You are very fortunate that your parents are wiling to support you until you find another job.

As for article writing... yes, you may be able to make decent money depending on your skills, whether or not you have expertise in a particular niche, and how well you market yourself. It's not as easy as so many people make it sound. You'll also quickly burn yourself out if you have to do a high volume of writing at lower prices.

I strongly encourage you to focus on finding another job instead - make that your full time job right now. Don't count on IM for your income - including writing. I recommend you do that on the side (as part time work while you look for a full time job) to bring in some income, not to mention to see if you even like it or are any good at it.

Unfortnately, far too many people think that anyone who speaks English can be a writer. Writing is a skill, just like anything else. Being able to string words together to make a coherent sentence does not a writer make. I'm not saying that to dash your hopes right now, but do encourage you to be realistic.

Get your resume up to date (and consider hiring a professional to help you with that); use your education and work history, and focus on finding a new job first and foremost. You can always build a writing or IM career on the side (and possibly turn either into a full-time career in time if they start bringing in enough money and if that's what you prefer).

Just my 2 cents. I do wish you the best!

Sorry about your situation. I'm sure you'll find a new job soon. To make money with writing, you could post jobs on Fiverr. You can also sign up for freelance websites and promote yourself there. Plus you can advertise in the Warriors For Hire section of this forum.

    Hi Player87,
I feel for you and I know how it feels to lose your job before Easter.
    Here's what I will do.

    1. Sign up for Google Reader
    2. Subscribe to Craigslist + writing gigs as the keyword.
This will filter out the rest of the ads and only show you people who are looking for writers online.
    3. Then I would send them an email to telling them that I can fulfill their criteria and include links to my articles that have been published.
    4. I would aim for 3 clients a week for a start and ask for testimonials from satisfied clients.
Try it, it worked for me and I earn about $250 a week just writing articles, research reports etc.
    Goo luck

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the job loss, but on the bright side you have your parents to fall back on, which is good news for you!

Some people have suggested you hire yourself out on the freelancer sites but I don't think that is as easy as they say. Firstly without feedback on the sites you will struggle to get work and secondly you are competing with people from countries where the cost of living is much lower. I posted a job on Odesk yesterday and within 3 hours had over 140 applications, mostly from Asian countries with people willing to work for anything from $0.89 to $12 an hour!

I suspect you probably don't want to work for $1 an hour or less - you'd be better off washing dishes down your local pub.

Setting up your own sites takes time and a bit of investment capital (domain names / hosting) and requires some knowledge.

Reading what you've said your best bet is the writing option, but I'd keep looking for a day job as well whilst you are writing.

Set up a website (if you can't afford a domain name then use blogger / wordpress) promoting your writing, with samples, order buttons and the like. Contact some warriors on here that are buying article writing services and offer to write them a few articles for free to get some testimonials. USe these on your blog.

Put your website in your signature and participate in this forum you'll get yourself some business. Also post in the Warriors for hire section too and you may get some work from there.

You can create some PLR article packs or PLR books and if you haven't got the money to pay for a WSO, set them up on somewhere like JVZoo and contact warriors who own PLR membership sites or lists and ask them to JV with you or offer to sell them the packs.

With some time and effort you can make it work!

    Good luck with it!

    Jason

Sorry to hear that mate. Homever if you don't have any particular skill or 0 money to invest I would suggest you to search some part time offline job as you would earn a lot more and you could spare some money for IM.

Otherwise if you are willing to write for 0,80-1,50$ per 100 words with good quality you can make easy 40-50$ daily.

Let your parents help you start your own online business. They can lend you some money, can't they? No matter what route you may take (freelance article writing or having your own websites), you will need some seed money for branding and advertising.

If you'll take freelancing route, I'd suggest you get a domain, hosting, and autoresponder. Create a simple site with a brief bio of yours and sample articles, an opt-in form, free report on something like "why they need carefully written rich content for their business" (and put a few lines in your report as to why they should hire you). Put your site's link in your signature here, and in your profile pages at freelancing sites. Then post your ad at Warriors For Hire section. (There are also other sites where you can post such ads).

If you'll take the other route, having your online assets like websites and ebooks, you'll again need some seed money for domains, hosting, autoresponder.

It's just another side effect of working for someone else. They set up the rules, and a small oversight on your side can lead to big problems. Learn from this precious experience of yours It's nothing different in online business. Read the rules, TOS, whatever of those who you'll be partnering with (your clients, affiliate networks, Google, Amazon, Facebook etc.). Always be aware.

$35 every few weeks is not bad if you ask me. Now, since you have more time to put in online, you can leverage, can't you?

Building a website or a blog (same thing technically) doesn't take long, nowadays.
You know what? Having a website is not a luxury, it's a must if you want to compete. It also shows that you're serious in this business.

A few ideas (...and I'm sure that there are others who will recommend the same):
Write articles, short reports, autoresponder series, snippets, sales copy for others... or for your own.
    Start a PLR business.
Write ebooks, sell them, let others sell them for you, or sell them reseller rights for quick cash.

    Cheers.

I know it's already been mentioned a few times, but you basically just have to do 3 things:

    1) Create a salespage for your writing service(on Warriors for Hire, Weebly.com, your own site, whatever)
    2) Write up some good samples and post them on the site
    3) Market your service on the WF, Craigslist, local businesses, etc.

Sorry to hear that you lost your job but it may be a blessing in disguise. Now you can focus your full attention into Internet Marketing and really get your money making business off the ground.

Spend some time learning and ask lots of questions here on the forum. Put together a business plan and if you want purchase some WSOs to get your imagination juices flowing.

Once you have a plan take action and spend as much time as you can building up a client base and a strong business.

Write to do lists and stick to them making sure you do something every day.

It is very achievable and if your parents will support you then you can afford to dive in head first.
