Best affordable Hosting Company?

A few of my blogs were recently compromised less than 2 week after I purchased hosting from HostMonster. They couldn't help me one bit as they said it "isn't apart of their policy" so I decided to get a refund and go with a company more reliable and with better customer service.

Any ideas?
I've heard HostGator is good...

little down time, good security, good customer support, all for about $10 a month or less
maybe that's too much to ask for though

PM has been sent. Since I'm a web host, I can really only ask general questions so that I'm not advertising on threads..

i would recommend Hostgator and Godaddy if you have a good budget but you can use Bluehost instead if you want a cheaper one. I use Bluehost and it cost only $3.95 per month and i got good support from them so far.

I like hostgator for the most part.. I ran into some problems with some of my blogs taking up too many resources and they shut down my MYSQL causing all of my websites to go down... also they have had some DOS problems causing my websites to have some down time.... aside from that, they are great for the price...

I use Hostgator and have been very happy with them from day one. They have helped me in the past with things with technically are outside their obligations.

    Can't fault them.

I had about 15 sites running on hostgator and entirely using wordpress.
Their support team handle my issues very fast. I got my wordpress set up and password re registered and they also advise me if its been hacked or tempered.
      Hope this helps

whatever host you choose, keep in mind that a compromised code or content is always risky and your host can't do much.

I guess you are using wordpress, try to update wp and all of its plugins, change your password and make it stronger . Always have your own backups at least one per week so in bad time you just have to click restore button to restore your healthy and safe copy of your website.

Always download themes and plugins from an authentic source, often bad websites deliver you trojans and malwares along with free stuff.

    cheers!

I'd highly advise against "cheap" hosting. What quality of service & features can you expect for $2?

      Reliable Servers?
      Fast Servers?
      Backups?
      Extra features?

EDIT: I'd also stay away from the "unlimited disk space & bandwidth".

I have had hosting with them for 3 years and they have been one of the best companies I have ever dealt with.

There are actually some diamonds in the rough.

"Unlimited" in the web hosting world really means "we hid the real limits in our terms of service so you probably won't notice until we suspend your account".

There's always a limit on inodes (i.e. files) or % of cpu time or something similar hidden in the TOS.

Always been with hostgator and would never change.

I'd never take the risk of cheap hosting. Saving a couple of bucks a month isn't worth the trouble most of them cause.

I suggest you to see this hosting top
      thebesthostingweb.com
The top was realized taking in consideration the following aspects: guaranteed and tested stability of the servers, accessible prices, no intermediary companies, number of hosted domains, very positive feedbacks.
      Good luck.
