Advice Needed on My First LinkedIn Ad

I know a lot about Adwords Text Ads but I am new to LinkedIn Advertising.

Want my ad to look professional while attracting attention to my offer page for a niche programming service. Appears that corporations seem to use animated ads in LinkedIn with a few bullet points and a button to their offer. Their offer seems to be mostly some sort of contact us or offer page without all the usual surrounding website links.

Have never done image ads. How do I get up to speed on designing a successful animated ad? Any articles or advice?

I have been reading articles about image ads. Many articles suggest that beautiful isn't always better. Here are a few things that I have learned.

    1. Ugly text images sometimes work well. Circling offers with a red pen, yellow highlights and hand generated arrows while ugly attract attention.

    2. Unusual shapes like circles and jagged edges stand out in a crowd.

    3. Slanted words attract attention.

Probably can do #2 and #3 but #1 seems like it might negatively reflect on the offer.

I've never advertised on Linkedin but I am a member there, and I would strongly advise you NOT to go with option #1 Linkedin as I'm sure you know is a more professional atmosphere, so while you may want to attract more attention, you don't want to sacrifice professionalism in the process.
