Don't ever use fiverr for articles...

Maybe it's just the gig I picked but I had a horrible experience on fiverr the other day.

I'm pretty good creating my own content but I was running a little short on time and needed a few things outsourced. So, I bought the gig. I should have known it was too good to be true. 3 500 word articles for $5.

I received the articles in 24 hours. What I received was a bunch of jibberish and rehashed articles that had obviously been spun in every imaginable way.

I guess I shouldn't have expect much for 5 bucks...lesson learned.

Wow .. at $5 for 15 hundred words .. just what did you expect?

Yeah I wouldn't expect much from Fiverr. Most of the content you get for $5 can only be used for SEO purposes (spinning & blasting out to directories or Web 2.0 sites).

There's some good content writers here in the Warriors for Hire section. Many claim to have fast turn arounds, what's great about that section is you can read reviews from other Warriors so you know what to expect in terms of quality and turn around time.

Some gigs have lots of very good feedback. I don't know if they are bad too but people really gave nice comments for them. This thing happened to me for creating a Logo. The guy just wrote the name of our company on a green background. It was so bad but the guy really has many wonderful comments. On the otherhand, I have good experience too for my other gig. SO it may be luck or something.

I'm just overwhelmed right now. I've been churning out article after article for the past 2 weeks. I'm going to have to find someone reliable who I can outsource some of my projects to.

I'll look in the warriors for hire section. Thanks

Here's a tip I used last year when the demand for my article writing services took off: Craigs List. I live in a college town and I posted up a free ad on Craigs List. Within two days I'd had 15-20 responses. I emailed each one and asked them to send to me 1 article of ~750 words on a random topic so that I could see how they wrote, and I gave them 24 hours to complete the task.

I ended up getting an awesome writer out of the deal who could handle the same volume that I could. She and I did a 50/50 split on the articles, which made me happy as I was getting paid just to get the business and proofread what she'd written. (And her work was easy to proof...she rarely had any errors.)

Try and stay within 2 articles for $5. Anything more than that and i expect the quality of the article will not be good! :/

Don't let this experience stop you though...find a good writer and stick to him or her for your content.

$5 for 3 articles is too low... $1.33/article. No wonder the quality is so poor.

Well ... $1.67/article, perhaps. But in that price-range, who's counting?

The thing is, anyone who's any good as a writer, if they start off at Fiverr, may not stay there for very long.

So, you can catch someone good, within a few weeks of their "starting off online" (though that's going to be $5 for one article, not for three, I think?), just like you can find a really promising, good, young copywriter who will do a tremendous, successful $3,000 job for $497 ... but there's always going to be a lot of luck in it, and most often, that's not going to happen.

Yes, this is true: Fiverr is outstanding for those "bizarre"/"weird" gigs. Those are actually almost all that I've ever bought there - and I've very rarely been disappointed!

Because they take home only $4, you mean? Yes, I did wonder if he was looking at it from the supplier's perspective rather than the customer's, but decided probably not, given that the thread's clearly entirely from the customer-perspective? ... Oh well ...

I can't imagine how anyone would think they could get one usable article for $5, much less 3.

You get what you pay for.

If you really want to get good results, you could try investing in quality work from a competent writer. This work won't come cheap, though.

There are also some good writer's on WF who are also on Fiverr.com.

Chatted with one the other day. Jayrcu something or other is his handle on here.

It isn't Fiverr.com you don't like, it was that one gig.

I've amazing gigs on fiverr.com and some that were garbage. When you find good ones, stick with them.

I figured for $5 bucks, just give a bunch a try.

I ran 3 x 500 articles until recently to build up my credentials on fiverr as well as build up a portfolio.

I have had nothing but repeat orders. None of my articles are spun/rehashed and all pass copyscape.

I have had nothing but good reviews hailing me as one of the best article writers on fiverr.

So you can get quality for $5 for 1500 words!

I got overwhelmed with orders and stopped when i had 50 in the queue, although I am working my way through this (all articles completed on time)

I gained 2 'contracts' for $15 per 500 words away from fiverr So basically someone is paying $45 for something i used to charge $5 for. I complete around 9 or 10 of these a week. Many people were purchasing 3 gigs at a time and telling me to just write one 500 article, which was nice of them!

I won't be heading back to fiverr, I completed what I set out to do, and that was build a portfolio of work as well as getting a bit of start up cash for IM.

Fiverr is hit and miss. The same as anywhere you get what you pay for and 3 articles for $5 sounds like taking a risk at the best of times.

There are some gems on fiverr and i have fond 2 writers which i have now been using for over a year with great results.

If you want someone reliable from this forum i would recommend Sidcandid http://www.warriorforum.com/warriors...price-tag.html

I agree that the problem is not Fiverr but the person you paid to do the work. I've gotten some really good stuff there and some unusable stuff, depending on who did it. But it's fast and it only costs $5 to see if someone does good work, and if they do, send them more work. Beats having to write your own ad looking for someone to do something, then waiting for responses.

BTW although $5 (or $4) for 3 articles doesn't sound like much, that could be a lot of money to the writer depending on where they live. It could be the equivalent of $30 or even $50 in the US, and if they took half an hour to write an article, that would be a higher hourly wage than a lot of people make here.

So you were expecting someone to write you 3 quality 500 word articles for $4?

    What weed are you smoking?

    Use your head.

You can find decent writers that can write 1 400-600 word article on fiverr, but anyone selling gigs with more than 1 should be a warning sign for you. No good writer will sell themselves that cheap bra.

There isn't really a nice or politically way to put this:

If they're willing to write that much for $5, english probably isn't their first language.

I'm all for using fiverr gigs for stuff, you get to help out people who really need it and you can get stuff done for cheap, but article writing is probably one of the last things I'd use it for.

The title is really misleading, firstly. There are plenty of great writers on Fiverr that do provide quality articles. I disagree that you can't get a good article written for $5, but probably expecting 3 well written articles for that price is pushing it.

You should always make sure you read a providers ratings before buying his or her gigs. While there are plenty of great writers on there, you should be careful hiring people at very low prices as it may suggest that English is not their first language (although it is not always the case)

I would suggest to go straight to freelance or odesk as well to outsource articles as you can get good quality for a lot less then paying a company or going to fiverr as you are now cutting out the middle man.

I used to write articles on Fiverr but I got so many orders I had to quit. Because I usually sell my completely original, high-quality, well-researched work for about $.02 - $.03 per word, selling a 300-word article for $4 was nearly prostitution. However, I did get some regular clients. You can see more about my work at Juliet Harpe – Writer, Blogger, Muse. P.S. I have some other great, non-kitsch gigs on Fiverr that are very popular! I hope you'll give it another try. Make sure you read the feedback before plunking down your $5er.

Yeah, like the others have said...to even bother purchasing a gig that promises 3 500 word articles for five dollars is more than a little ridiculous. Much less to expect any sort of quality.

On the other hand, it's equally as ridiculous for the person selling to offer such an unrealistic promise for a five dollar gig.

Personally, I have had almost nothing but great experiences with Fiverr. I recently purchased ONE 500 word article from a Fiverr seller (for $5) and it was OUTSTANDING!

Be fair and you will get what you're looking for.
