Free Government Grants- Legit?

Hey Warriors,

Someone please give me the scoop on these Government Grant offers. I have seen them all over the internet. Saying you can receive free money from the US government. Now I just want to know is this true at all???

If so I have tons of family members that could use this type of stuff. I just don't want to pass on anything that is a scam so any info you have on these please fill me in. Also pass on any links for legitimate grant offers.

It's not as easy as the ads make it out to be, but yes they exist.
The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance lists all the programs and how to apply.

Kirk is correct! It takes a lot of time to do the paperwork for government grants and if they are not done just right, they are rejected. It can be very frustrating.
Additionally, government grants for individuals must be for specific purposes, as determines by, yes you guessed it, the government. Like starting a business, as example, then you will need to submit business plans, marketing plans and oh so much.

The best way to get results out of actually trying to apply for government grants is to seek out a professional grant writer.

I have a friend who has done quite a bit of grant writing. PM me if you want contact info. I think he only gets paid if he actually secures a grant.

Yes, there are Government grants you can get but you have to qualify and they are usually hard to get and a lot of paperwork and time. Lisa purchased that book you see the ad for on TV about grants and tried to get several of them and never got a one. They make it look a lot easier than it actually is for sure.

Grant writing is a very difficult beast to tame... it takes an experienced professional to provide any positive results.

My father has written hundreds of grant requests for the education field, and it took him many years of research and savy skills that he developed over the years to qualify for any educational grants for his school.

Yes, the money is out there, but they sure as hell don't just give it away to anyone.

Thank you everyone for all of the great feedback. If you just go to Google and type in Free Government Grants. TONS come up. How do you know exactly which one to go with?

Some say they come with Grant Writing software to make this an easy process. They definitely make it sound easy as pie. Can someone PM with a legit offer that has worked? I would appreciate it.

None of them. They all just summarize the Govenrments Guide.

It's never an easy process.
There is a reason Grant Writers get paid well.

Of course they do, they just tell you what you want to hear. What sales letter doesn't make it sound easy?

Do a search on Grant Writing or go to the library and get a book on Grant Writing, or if you are looking for Business Help locate a nearby SCORE center.

Just to reiterate...SUCCESSFUL GRANT WRITING IS HARD WORK...it's definitely a PITA.

I've written several successful grants, and every one was an in-depth project. The terms of application are normally quite stringent and if you fail to meet even one small criterion, your application is tossed.

If your family members do start applying for these grants, they need to know what they're up against.

I think it should be quite difficult and i am not sure, since I am not from USA. Also, are these site requires to pay them something like an any fees, if Yes, then always before paying any money do a search in the google about the site.

All this grant writing can be totally avoided depending upon the size of the bank you own. For instance if your one of the top ten, you can practically have the cash dumped at your doorstep.
