I'm very new to internet marketing and i am looking for a simple, yet effective way to make money online just through my internet browser and a computer. No software needed. I want to know a simple place to start and learn until i can branch into more challenging things. I also want it to be no money invested or at least less than $100 investment. If anyone has any good ideas, id love to hear them. Thanks.

I’d say start with affiliate marketing but keep in mind that the real money is made with your own products. Don't let the stiff competition in affiliate marketing scare you away. There are some strategies you can use to effectively find your feet in this.
    1. Choose a good product to promote
Do not make the common mistake of selling the popular products everyone else is selling. Do a simple research first to know if the product is in demand in the market. Also, make sure that the product you'll choose is of good quality.
    2. Do some pre-selling
Most affiliates conduct pre-selling to qualify the leads they will be referring to the merchant's page. This will increase conversion rates because only interested individuals will see the sales page. One thing you can do here is to buy the product you are promoting, and write an honest review about it.
    3. Be capable enough of driving traffic to the merchant's sales page
This is basically the most difficult task you’ll face. In doing this, you should decide first how you will attract traffic towards your affiliate website. You can go for paid advertising or you can spend time creating authority sites that are content rich and with affiliate advertising placed within them. It is good if you can use both strategies.
The nature of the traffic you drive to your affiliate site also matters. You should be able to send highly-targeted traffic, or else, your conversion rates will not be sufficient to cover the cost of advertising.

Start with creating your own website first. It can even be a free website. Linkshare and Commission Junction have got some good Advertisers who are offering $1 to $10 for just sending leads to their websites. Leads means the visitors may have to sign up for 'trial'. Once conversion takes place, you get paid which is second income. This is the best place for you to start without any investment.

If you happen to be a prolific writer you could try building a couple of blogs on a free host, maybe Google's Blogger, getting custom domain names for them would make you invested, maybe helping with the motivation. Writing a few articles a week could earn you some traffic after some months, that might earn you advert of affiliate money, learning to do your own SEO and affiliate setup should be a useful learning exercise. Low investment makers for slow growth and low returns, you can't expect big money.

The success rates for people venturing into IM is not good, those with business/sales experience have an advantage.

Well no matter what you say, you still need a start-up investment if you really want to be successful. I think it's easier for you to gather a good investment outside of the online world first, before you begin internet marketing.
What I did was follow Will's MyMobileBusiness wso (I can't recommend this highly enough) and made around 250$ in about 4 days, which I've used to invest in my online business. You can decide on your own if you want to keep using Will's offline business to make money, but if you decide to come back to internet marketing, I highly suggest you do list building. Chris Farrell has made a free video course that explains this really well and I highly recommend you to have a look:

A Successful Web Business Explained....Step-by-Step! ** FREE VIDEO COURSE!

Trust me when I say you will be very thankful that you found Chris Farrell's video course. It made me realize just how wrong I was doing internet marketing the past 6 months, and I'm sure you will learn A LOT as well.

None of the above links are affiliate links, btw

Personally if I were you I'd look into the Challenge: The Challenge

It's Ed Dale's free course that shows you everything and how to make your first $1 online. Its not designed to make you rich with your first website but it shows you the fundamentals and everything you need to do to start making money. Sometimes people get lucky and pick a good niche and their first website does awesome.

Like I said, it's free, worth checking it out at least.

I started with a simple blog on a niche topic. It was more of a hobby than anything else (I enjoy creation, writing, and I am putting my degree in English to good use).

From that blog, i decided to compile it to an eBook. I then sold it and it has made me over $7000 in 3 months. And that is without any help from affiliates.

SO I would say build YOUR OWN business first, and get creating some products.

    Good luck

It depends on your level of quick learning. If you're looking to make cash to invest into your online venture I would suggest having an offline job and saving money. If on the other hand you would like to make some money here online to move onto bigger and better things try offering a service in a niche you're well versed in like article writing, backlinking or website building. Good luck!

Yea, the easiest and quickest way for you to make money online without much capital is through affiliate marketing.

I suppose you have Facebook and Twitter accounts already. You can cloak your affiliate link and promote to your friends there. Youtube is another free medium you want to tap into.

Better still, get a domain name, set up a blog or website about the niche you are expert in. Write quality contents in it. Put up adsense, promote clickbank products because they pay quite good commissions (Amazon is also another alternative).

There are many different ways to earn money..so many opportunities. Focus on one and work on it. Remember, success won't come overnight. You need to be positive, persistence and put in effort. Never give up!

    All the best =)

Wow, thanks for all the great responses everyone. Also i like how each of you explained it in a nooby friendly way that i could understand. Seems affiliate marketing was a very popular topic. From what i understand i need to buy web hosting and create a sales page to link to the product im promoting and also pre-sell. From what i hear, pre-selling is very difficult and also very expensive. As far as traffic goes, are there any free methods that work better than others and as far as the paid traffic generation, does anyone have an example of paid traffic generators or tutorials on how to do it without losing a ton of money? Once again, thanks everyone for your input. I appreciate it and it has helped me quite a bit. Hope everyone has a great day!
      Thanks,
      Nate

I would say be innovative think unique.. Go to Fiverr look at what others are doing and think about something which you can do for $5. Any task of few minutes which you can do for others can simply make you five dollar every time. I started with that only when i had no money for investment.. i made around $500 via Fiverr in less than two months in my free time without any promotion or hard work.

It seems most fiverr gigs take a good amount of time to do. An hour of work for $5 doesnt seem worth it to me when i make 11.50 an hour at my day job. And i think fiverr takes part of that money and you usually only get $4 if im not mistaken. If only there were jobs in high demand you could offer and do in 5-10 mins. Those would be really worth it.

Yep you are right, you get only $4 per order and after cutting paypal charges it becomes $3.95 or something. But if your gig is of just 5-10 minutes it's really worth and that is why i said be innovative and think different a simple task which is possible for you but others avoid doing it by their own or outsource it due to lack of knowledge or may be due to their need.. and you can make good amount of money from that.

    1. Choose a niche where you want to be (dmoz has very nice list of niches, just pick one)
    2. Go to clickbank and find good product
    3. Do keyword research which will be related to the product
    4. Create a website with good landing page
    5. Put the affiliate link on your site
    6. Promote your web on social websites, youtube, blogs and do some SEO

First of all, find a niche that is in demand. You could google keywords using the google keyword too to get a feel of how the demand for those are. Remember to focus on "buying keywords" Following that you can then choose affiliate products to sell from that niche.

You do not need to have a budget to become an affiliate marketer. However you'll find that driving traffic and converting sales will be the number one challenge.

Starting from affiliate marketing is the best thing to start without any good investment. sure you can buy hosting and domain in a few dollars. Then wordpress is free to setup a nice website. But please note, no matter what you do, it required commitment and time. Its about doing the right thing, with the right knowledge and using the right tools. Be aware of your market.

I jumped in feet first with affiliate marketing without taking the time to do research. I purchased product after product but had no list to promote to. I would suggest hiring a mentor, build your own subscriber list, and learn how to build trust with this list.
