Hey Warriors,

I was thinking this morning- some of us (including me) have been internet marketing for a while now...like, years... yet aren't making 6 or 7 figures yet.

What's your excuse?

I know for me it can be really hard to focus some days, and I can't tell you how many projects I've started and never finished

I definitely finish some projects, it's just not as many as I've started.

The problem for me is that I keep coming up with new ideas, all day long. It's hard for me to put them on the backburner, because I know I'll have even more ideas tomorrow.

The thing is- a finished project has the opportunity to make me $$$- a 95% finished project DOESN'T. This is the main thing I'm changing in my business in 2012.

Focus has been my issue in the past. But, now that I am in a more private setting and have started to plan my days and projects, I'm much more productive and get things done. When I started planing my day out ahead of time and writing it down, it made a huge difference.

  • Hi Justin, that's real also by my side.
My main cause it's the language, because being Italian it's difficult to write currently in another language, so sometimes I got stuck in the middle.

Some other times, thanks to the help of a proofreader, I could end my jobs and post some WSOs.
Other times, my good proposals get to no end because others are more fast to develop the idea and write it.

I hope to improve my learning, but I will never be an optimal English writier. I will always need the check by a mothertongue proofreader.

Every things wo block us can be surpassed or stopped. If you lost focus, try to work without getting a pause for 1 or 2 hours. Close every program like Skype, email software, news and shut down tv and radio.
Focalize your attention on what you are doing, and results will come for sure, so that you can reach that dreamed 6 or 7 figures!

    Thanks and see you soon,
    Alessandro

Mine's simple: At times, I have the attention span of a goldfish. Unless I'm utterly fascinated by it OR I'm getting really good feedback (sales, compliments, comments, etc.), I tend to lose interest and never get around to finishing what I was doing.

At 34 years old though, I'm forcing myself to overcome this tendency because I don't really have the time to mess around any longer like I did when I was 20.

      5 figures? LOL

      I can't even make 100 dollars in a year...

My excuse, I keep throwing money away on the warrior for hire section on backlink packages that say they work but they don't. I am beginning to think that there are lots of paid fake testimonials. I might have to hire someone at elance or odesk.

I have around 6 adsense sites and none of them are making me money because I can not rank them on the first page and they are low competiton keywords, so I do not get it.

I need to take a 2 weeks vacation from my job and stay home for hours learning how to build backlinks myself. This sucks. Everyone is here to make a quick buck out of you and no one cares about your site rankings

How good is the content on these sites? Are they puny 400 words articles, or quality 1,000 word ones (or more)?

Do you have different backlinks coming in- blog comments, articles, press releases, etc.?

Are you inter-linking between posts and pages on your site?

These are all important with SEO. But you don't need to take 2 weeks off to learn backlinking- trust me. Spend $5 or $10 on a quality WSO on SEO/backlinking and you can learn the basics in an hour or less.

I think EVERYONE both successful and unsuccessful suffer from the same problem with focus. Except I believe the key is to start something and don't stop until it is complete.

Just think if you spend a year setting up a profitable product as oppose to a year setting up 50 half finished products although it looks like you have done more they will not make any money.

The key is focus but more than that BELIEF!

Do I suffer from this problem - yes - but past successes drive me on!

You build from your failures - the thing is you need to failure A LOT to succeed.

Have fun failing but don't give up!

Yup, definitely makes sense. It's part of why I'd talk myself out of finishing projects. I'll say "oh that won't work", and move on.

But if instead I'd just believed that it would work and FINISH IT, it would at least have had a chance of making me $$$

Hey Justin, not to hijack your thread, but here's something that might help you, and others, with finishing more worthwhile projects.

        Getting Results the Agile Way

It's sort of a task management system that doesn't focus as much on tasks and actions as it does on outcomes and results. In other words, it isn't a system that you input and list things you want to do today or this week. Instead you input results you want to achieve.

        An Overview

        Read the book online

I'm just throwing it out there for what it's worth. Might be helpful. Might not.

        Peace
