Do you use this strategy to boost conversion rate?

Hi Everyone, I was wondering do you guys use only the Email field in your opt in forms? If so, how effective is it for you?

For me personally I started to use only the Email field in my opt in forms, and the conversion rate has increased by 10% compared to using Name & Email in my opt in form. Which is amazing, however the only downside to this is, I can't personalize my emails to my subscribers.

Do you believe personalizing your emails is important, if so why?

Share your thoughts...

Thanks
Shimon

Yes - I've done this for a long time, now.

A little bit better than your 10%, overall, I think, but I'm no longer split-testing it, now. I've just adopted that on all my sites and will do so on all my new ones, too.

For me, that isn't a downside. My customers don't like personalized emails. They think it makes marketers sounds like insurance salespeople and it's off-putting for them. (I asked, a couple of years ago. In a whole range of niches).

No. I believe not personalizing them is important!

So what salutation do y'all use in your list emails?

I think personalization makes a difference. Offering only email at the opt-in will get you more leads, but if you required the name also - i believe your sales conversion rates will be higher. I've tested this in my business.

If none of these options appeal to you, simply lead them to your sales letter page lol.

I have heard good things about using both ways. I don't use email marketing or even build a list (although I should) but, I can say this. Even if you are getting a longer list to build to, the only way to know which is better is if they are still converting as well. I know several tests have been done and personal looking emails are always way ahead in conversions.

I believe the personalization is important in the emails. However, you have to make sure that your email itself isn't just a promotion (or especially promotion after promotion).

It's important to build a relationship with your list. Share some of yourself with them and your conversions will go up.

Yep I've split tested this and removing the name field has increased conversions for me.

Personalizing emails might have been effective a few years ago, but I believe most people are smart enough to know it's not genuine.

With that said, I have tested subject lines with personal names and without... the ones with personal names did have a slightly higher open rate, but the conversion rate on the squeeze page was worth the small sacrifice.

It's important to run your own split tests, you might see different results.

Hi Everyone, thanks for sharing your thoughts, yeah I guess I'll have to do more split testing to see which one works best for me.

    Thanks anyways...
