Do you compress your html?
But it's still at least somewhat important, especially if you have website that hosts pages with lots of content in them.
I've noticed that even a lot of big, notable websites (eg Amazon.com) don't bother to compress their html, when it would definitely be worth it for them to do so.
Google has also stated that page load time is a factor in your SERP rankings, and html compression is one of the best ways to reduce load time, if even by .5 seconds then you have still gained something.
Not to mention the portion of visitors that will see your page still loading, and exit the page before it loads because they are very impatient. Who knows: those visitors could have been potential customers.
Lately I've been going through my main website and compressing all the html to reduce load times. Anyone else do this?
Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.
